Survivors can not be hit while setting a turrent

I saw a survivor carrying a turrent, when I pressed m1 to hit him he started the animation of placing the turrent, I got the cooldown of a missing attack and did no damage to the survivor, and then the turrent activates and got me out of crawler mode
Steps to reproduce
1.Play as the xenomorph
2.Find a survivor with a turrent
3.Try to hit then at the moment they are placing the turrent (if possible)
How often this occur: For me already happened twice
