What the knight could have been (rework ideas mayhaps)
The current version of the knight in dbd leaves a lot to be desired as a large man with a great sword his power is summon other people to do things for him is kind of boring since you don't get to feel like you do that much yourself, not really taking advantage of the cool ideas that come with being a knight such as different combat techniques, close up reactive fighting, and multiple different fighting styles that a character like this can offer. Thats why ive decided to write up a revamp to make him more interesting so heres my idea for what the knight could have been.
First off heres a new power to work with the theme of being a knight commander to still fit with the current design (slightly)
The knight commander is a master of many styles of combat and leading giving them access to a 4 different combat styles.
Combat styles can be changed to any other combat style on a 1 minute cooldown taking 4 seconds to change moving at 2m/s while changing
Sword and shield style, Shield style offers a parry, by parrying the dropping of a pallet you can push it back up and block it for 15 seconds, the window would be ~0.5 of a second and he would move at 1m/s while parrying. Parrying has a cooldown of 25 seconds. Successfully parrying also allows you to change combat styles instantly for 5 seconds.
Banner style, Banner style gives you the ability to command your companions to perform destructive and assistive actions for you from a range. Requiring you to be within 16m of a gen and be within 16m of a pallet with line of sight. The destructive action takes 5 seconds and applies regular regression. This can also be used to command your companions to block window vaults after a 2 second channel for 10 seconds within 16m of a window. These actions have a global cooldown of 10 seconds for destruction and 20 seconds for blocking respectively and cooldown while their effects are active
Spear style, Spear style offers a risky and calculated option of approach. The hitbox of the spear extends 1m further than normal attacks but has a smaller hitbox on the sides. The spear can also be thrown to deal 1 health state of damage. Hitting this attack instantly retrieves the spear but missing forces you to either retrieve the spear or wait 20 seconds for it to return to you. While you are waiting for your spear to be retrieved you cannot switch combat styles and you use your bare hands with a reduced lunge range (50%)
Greatsword style, Greatsword style offers a positioning advantage to go in for a devastating blow. After channeling for 2 seconds you can create a blockade up to 16ms away that prevents the survivor from moving through it for 10 seconds. This ability has a cooldown of 15 seconds after it ends. The greatsword applies deep wound on hit but does not apply any basic attack effects except exposed.
And with that is my mockup of what I think the knight could have been. He could have been a rounded fighter with a lot of combat styles at his disposal while still being a commander of troops like he is now.

This kit would be a bit overloaded and very, very complicated, but also pretty cool. I actually enjoy playing as the Knight, as you can do some mean pincer attacks, but I also know that he is very unpopular to go against.
