Aura Perks - Killing this Game
Stop introducing perks that shows Auras. On either side. Its just a type of cheat.
It wasn't so bad when there was only one that survivors had to look out for really was BBQ & Chili. It was defendable and it didn't take any fun out of the game.
But now... like literally almost anything a killer does can show them the aura of the survivor. its just ridiculous. Unlike BBQ & Chili, most of these perks don't have a counter.
And yes, the aura perks should be taken away from survivors too. While it is not as detrimental for a survivor to a killer's aura as it is for a killer to see a survivors aura.. its still a mini-cheat and should just be removed.
Not quite sure why the devs decided that there should be no hiding in this game anymore, despite the games original premise was to hide from the killer.. but its definitely gone too far at this point.
Stop making perks that show the rival players' auras. Just stop. Let the match progress with actual skill, instead of the rival player knowing exactly where you are and every juke you make.

"While it is not as detrimental for a survivor to a killer's aura"
you should have seen 4 "Object Of Obsession" before its rework in the game. it was impossible to play

Yeah I agree very easy access to aura reading perks has made the game quite boring and killed the horror-factor.
5 -
Not a fan of the "unstoppable horror you can't ever escape from" type of horror monster?
3 -
Haha not really. I actually like the hiding factor which was the foundation of DbD. Hide&seek and being scared of the killer.

It comes down to a "pick your poison" situation.
Either you deal with perks that allow killer to have a general knowledge of your whereabouts (auras and scream based perks) or you deal with killers running gen regression spam.
Imo information perks are the least "controversial" option since it encourages you to look for other people and actually play the game instead of kicking and repairing gens for an hour.
Realistically there isn't any other viable subset of perks other than info and regression, chase perks like bamboozle are nice to haves but more often than not simple mindgames provide the same timesave.

4 years ago I raised this topic, I talked about it for probably a year, maybe someone will remember me now.
I asked to make the “distortion” skill without the number of triggers or to give it a cooldown.
Eventually, years later, she was given a fix.
If you are ready to spend a year frequently raising the issue to the top of discussions, then you can achieve something otherwise.
But now not only auras but also screams have made the game very easy for maniacs; nothing remains about the original idea of hide and seek. You won’t be able to remove auras, but if you come up with something logical that could somehow compensate for the balance, eventually they will hear you someday.
Many players expressed dissatisfaction that what previously required the ability to play is now covered by skills and an enjoyable or acceptable game is only possible in a group against such an imbalance.

Aura perks exist since 2016. On both sides.

Exactly what I thought.
The worst time was when they already reworked Freddy, but OoO was still not nerfed. As a past Freddy Main this time was horrible. I remember one match where 3 people had Object. I just looked at them and then went afk to get a tea.

The scare factor vanishes automatically if you play long enough. I have 6.5k hrs, believe me, dbd is not scary anymore. Regardless of what you do.

I mean, any action you take will reveal your enemy's aura
0 -
Yeah unfortunately that's also true :(

It was especially painful for trapper
0 -
Yes. Or Hag.
But those could at least attempt to get people in chase because OoO was inactive inside the TR.
Once a survivor was asleep vs Freddy (which happened automatically after the rework) they could see him even up close, which disabled mindgames as a whole.
Good luck with that.

It happens with all games, not just dbd. When I played Welcome to the Game II for the fist time I almost ######### myself, but after some time, when you start to understand the mechanics you don't fear the enemies anymore. You might absolutely dislike them (Breather) or you might actually enjoy their presence as it tells you that you are quite safe right now and can go and grab a coffee.

Try it on Oni...

Wesker.
0 -
nah. Oni in ability. Wesker does not come close
1 -
His naturally big TR makes it a viable tool imo.

Your point is about how easy it is to apply the perk. What @DaddyMyers_Mori hinted at is, how brutal strength it provides when u use it WHILE you already have power. It's quite easy to end the game from there. Especially because you have normal TR + insane speed. Try it out and then come back if wesker's "more reliable way" to apply it can be converted to this many kills as is possible with Oni.
0 -
That is true.
I'm thinking about using Calm Spirit for once lol.
2 -
Hens showed the perk on both Wesker and Oni.
Oni's game usually ended with first use of his power. Snowball potencial is insane with this perk for Oni.

Killers use gen perks people cry
Killers use aura perks people cry
Killers use chase perks people cry
There really isn't any winning
2 -
Seeing aura is cheating, but Deadlock delaying up to 2 minutes of gen time for free isn't?
