Grace period after connection loss
I'm writing this after having racked up penalty after penalty after getting booted as soon as my connection gets wonky. The way the game just kicks you out with no option to reconnect seems unfair to me, especially when combined with the fact that the penalties get harsher and harsher. If your internet goes off for a few seconds and then goes back on you will still be booted out of the game, and be penalized on top of it, for something that is out of your control.
So my suggestion is pretty simple: A grace period of a minute or so where you have the chance to reconnect if the game picked up that the reason for you leaving the game was in fact because of a connection drop. Leaving the game through the menu, or alt+f4 is purposeful, and therefore wouldn't trigger the grace period.
Why a minute? Because the remaining survivors would have to wait for the killer to reconnect. Anything more would be abuseable since people could just purposefully disconnect their internet to force the remaining survivors to wait for X amount of time. One minute is bearable, and gives enough time for you to reconnect if the connection drop was a fluke.
During the grace period everyone would be free to move as they please, but with some text popping up on the screen to let them know that the killer's connection dropped out, and any movements or actions they do will be reverted to the state right before the drop out happened.
If the killer reconnects the game will continue right where it left off, and if they don't the survivors automatically win like normal.
This is mostly in response to the harsher DC penalties, because you have to separate the people who are legitimately unlucky, and the people who are just angry that their game didn't go their way. One group deserves to be penalized, the other does not.
