Decisive Strike not working

I played a game against Wesker who grabbed me with his power whilst I still had Decisive Strike active. He slammed me into a wall, the skill check came up, I hit the skill check, and nothing happened. I died on the hook immediately after since I'd gone stage 2 already. I don't know everything that the Wesker had, but they did have pentimento, hex: plaything, and the iridescent add-on that exposes survivors when fully infected. We were also on the rearranged Macmillian map if that makes a difference.
