Blast Mine 99% gen stun abuse
In my opinion you should not be able to repair the gen when the killer is stunned due to Blast Mine.
The single purpose of 99ing a gen and putting Blast Mine on it is to finish it in the Killer's face while they can't do anything because of the stun. This is usually done with the last gen to finish as well.
You are put into a loose-loose situation when finding a 99ed gen. Either ignoring the gen and search for the survivor nearby, wasting precious additional time, which also can result in them just tapping the gen and finishing it while you are not looking.
Or kick it and get it done in your face.
You can't wait for BM to expire, because you don't know it's there and because they will finish it if you leave.
The only purpose of this is to tease the killer, spit in their faces and make them mad. Which is worse than all those FL clicking butt-dancers. Those I can ignore. Which I can't with a 99ed gen.
An alternative solution to just makeing repairs impossible, would be to finally make the mine visible to killers as well. So I know what they want to do.

You can see a flashbang placed on top of gens with blastmine activated

let blast mine have this one singular W
18 -
The killer cannot see the blast mine placed on the gen.
7 -
That’s only visible to survivors.
I don’t think the scenario in the OP is an issue though.
7 -
Oops my bad I thought it was visible by everyone. In any case yeah I don't think blastmine is an issue.
1 -
Give me a screenshot of it while playing killer.
Because when I play survivor the smoke is clearly visible. But somehow I never see it on killer.

I would be fine if people are doing this because they need stuns/blinds for challenges, but sadly this mechanic is purely used to be toxic.
0 -
This is as toxic as a killer using Pop on a 99d generator in a survivor’s face. Thus it is not toxic. You just got outplayed man, get over yourself. It is Blastmine.
17 -
Pop I can anticipate. I know it's there beforehand. I can't see BM.
Like I said: Make it visible to the killer and it would be fine.

I don't understand why this is supposed to be a bad thing? If a survivor wants to 99 a gen, let you hit BM, and then pop it, that's an entirely valid strategy. They're locking you into a 5s stun in preparation for endgame where you may have NOED. Why is this a bad thing exactly?
12 -
And take away the element of surprise? That ruins the whole perk. If you know survivors run it, you know you can be hit by it, lol.
2 -
It isn't. He is just hurt that it happened to him and he lost a match.
8 -
You realize that seeing the BM won't change anything right?
You see the mine on the last 99ed gen, what do you do?
Eat the stun to remove the mine and get it done in your face?
Try to wait out the BM by guarding the gen and have the Survivors do another gen while you're stuck there?
Have two Survivors show up, one of them takes a hit the other taps the gen to finish it?
The scenario you're talking about is almost unheard of outside of bully 4-mans. 99% of the time BlastMine is used to get even more distance if the Killer stops to kick the gen mid-chase and/or just to waste more time for people to do other gens.
If you want truly problematic perks, then look no further than FTP+Buckle Up and MFT. Those are in need of tweaks.

Because they mostly do it to mock you.
When I was playing survivor I have seen people prepare for it long before the killer arrived. They are not afraid of Noed. They want to annoy you that's all. Normal people would just finish it.

Sucks to suck. Get over it and go next.

This is one instance of asymmetric information in the game. The 'flashbang' on to of the gen is only visible to survivors, not the killer.
0 -
Dude. It’s a funny little “prank”. It’s definitely not “abuse”.
Relax and stop letting tiny stuff get under your skin.
7 -
Eh, It still funny to do xD.

Let me have fun ☺️
0 -
True, but not with almost finished gens when I use pop.
0 -
For you but not for the other side. Just finish the Gen. That is easier to digest than your "joke".
0 -
Just pointing something out that is used for toxicity. It's not the first time I encountered this on either side, but countless times already and it was always the same. I just feel bad for the killer who has a tough game, sees a glimpse of hope before getting slapped in the face.
0 -
That was what I was saying. Because a person before said that it is visible, but it isn't and I wanted them to confirm it with a screenshot.
0 -
I get that it can be an annoyance but the word "abuse" is too strong to describe this case, in my opinion.😕
8 -
As killer main, this is 100% your fault.
You see an abandoned gen at 99% and...you kick it without looking for survivor ? why ? Even if they don't have BM the second you leave, they finish the gen so..why wasting time to kick the gen if you're not looking around it first ?
You have pop ready ? Do a quick round around the gen and try to find the sneaky survivor, if he's not there kick it and in the 5 second you're blinded ( you still ear if they approach anyway ) they can't reach the gen to finish it.
You have pop ready ( meaning you have someone on hook ) that's the last gen about to finish and there are 3 survivors alive ? STAY NEAR THE HOOK, no reason to go and kick a generator, even with pop, pain reas and god send bless you can do anything to stop it, capitalize on the hooked survivor on the rescuers

Not only talking about this as killer but from both sides. It always feels bad when it happens.
Somehow this wasn't a thing before they buffed BM's duration.
0 -
whomp whomp let ppl have their fun this game is boring enough as it is
4 -
If this trick works, why should survivors feel guilty? They outplayed you. It has nothing to do with it BM and its duration, they tried a play many of the time don't work, you made a mistake so...it's part of the game, learn from your mistakes

These people are trying to mildly annoy you in a video game man.
Toxic gets thrown around way too easily. There's plenty of stuff that does border on toxicity in this game, but its all something you can manage in your own head.
This scenario is very mild on that scale, and tbh good strategy. By 99ing a gen with blast mine, the survivors successfully wasted your time by having you patrol a gen you couldn't stop, kick it and get stunned/blinded for a few seconds, repaired it anyway, and if they really got you slipped away undetected. That is optimal use of the perk to buy the most time possible for their team.
I'd say for all toxicity, short of cheating and using glitches to hold the game hostage, all of it is something you can develop thick skin over.

Then, pls explain what the killer should do in your opinion.
Because I don't see a solution as it is a loose loose situation
0 -
I told you before what you should do
0 -
You said "look for the survivor". Said survivor will just finish the Gen by sneaking around.
Just do it man, and stop wasting everyone's time.
0 -
Whatever, i tried to give you some ideas but yeah keep cryin' for a nerf
0 -
Right!! The butt-dancing or head-ons are far more annoying, and they don't really bother me much either. But the timely pallet stun or blastmine or flashbang are valid tactics imo.
0 -
or simply dont let the gen get 99'd.
