extremely serious question for the devs, why is healing gen vaulting unhooking ETC the same button??
how many buttons a controller have?
8 if we do not count the arrows and the sticks.
so why all those actions are on the same button?????
If vaulting and getting into lockers is space, why ain't it one button and if working, picking up items, healing is M1, why ain't it another button? it's not like there's 20 possible actions in DBD so why all those are into 1 button??
I played with a console player and while on the ground on a pallet he had to drop it, vault it and then heal me because it was the same button.
why is it still a thing???

good question. im afraid the devs didnt ask themselves this question in 7 years.
it will never stop to beng funny forcing a console player to vault a window instead of healing me or dropping pallets

I had a funny experience with the anti-camp. Was almost sacrificed on second hook when my anti-camp filled up and the unhook myself option popped up. I presses R1 but then the skill check happened and removed the unhook. I missed the skill check obviously and died.

Finally someone brought this up. xD
It was always hilarious to see how survivor trying to heal a teammate at the pallet and dropping it.
Or when they trying to kick Victor near totem, but cleansing instead.

The default controls on console are hideous. On a gen, you are holding down circle, whilst pressing R1 for skill checks, whilst trying to look around with the right stick. How is that remotely optimal? Does the playtesting team consist of squid-human hybrids? How does anyone play like that? You'd need two thumbs on your right hand to utitlise that control scheme effectively.
This game didn't become playable for me till I had remapped almost every single button.

Doesn’t help that there is bugs being ignored with rebound button prompts on controller… I can’t repel crows at all against Artist when playing on controller 🐦⬛

Nothing feels better when they place lockers near vaults just for the lols

The fun part is that it is possible to change it, but bc its not the standard most console player dont change the button layout.

With R1 you mean playstation? The standard layout is different. Or is that another console layout?

Those aren't the default controls...
You hold R1 to repair, L1 for skill checks, leaving your thumb free to look around.

Best one is that totem right next to the vault on RPD.
Why yes, I most certainly did want to cleanse a totem mid chase, that would be ever so helpful.
Game testing is a good thing, makes me wonder how much is actually done.

I did start playing on the Switch before I played on PS5. It was about two years ago, so maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

Must depend on console then? I have played the game on steam deck before which has the triggers mapping to most things, and steam deck controller is basically an xbox controller anyway.
