PS5 audio Issue - why is sound different/quieter than other platforms??

Reported this as a bug to start with but they declined and said it's technical issue. Not sure what that means exactly or how to fix it, I don't think it's on my end. BHVR likes to pretend it is for some reason.
Audio on PS5 with headphones (possibly without, too) is muffled, almost like if you play with the equaliser in a music app.
It's not like that on PS4. I've turned off 3D audio, not sure what else to try. It's not the headphones themselves as it only occurs in DBD.
Seriously about to uninstall because it's that annoying. Can anyone help?
