What you think of this Skull Merchant suggestion?
So, for summary, Pixel aggress that her automatic hinder effect is nothing short of annoying and cheap, making her miserable to go against.
So rather than outright nerfing her, he suggest reworking this feature a bit, by making it something similar to Doctor's Shock.
This are the changes as he lists them:
-Getting scanned while Claw Trapped no longer applies Hindered
-Killer instinct when scanned by a drone while claw trapped increased from 3 secs to 6 secs
-While Killer Instinct is active, she can pull the radar which will have a new function "Neuroshock"
-Neuroshock will hit all survivors that are currently Claw Trapped for 2.5 secs (same duration as Doc's Shock Therapy)
-Neuroshock applies a 5% Hindered (half of what it is currently) and removes Survivor's ability to interact with objects or other survivors for its duration (2.5 secs), but it doesnt apply Madness like Doctor does.
Thats pretty much the gist of it, he also goes into details about addon changes for this function and some bugfixes, but you can watch the vid if youre interested on that.
I think its an interesting idea, since we never really had something similar to Doctor's Shock in any other killer, which is surprising considering his age in the game, being one of the older killers, and this does require input and timing from the killer player to get value of, unlike the current Hindered that just happens automatically.
It could maybe use some changes here and there, but i wouldnt be against testing something like this on the PTB.

At this point I don't think BHVR can do anything to salvage skull merchant. She's a failure through and through. She was, still is and probably will stay an incredibly unfun and uninteractive killer with a nonexistent skill floor and this suggestion wouldn't really change that, in fact I think it would make her even worse to play against. The only good thing about her terrible design is the fact that she is so boring to play as that few people even bother to do that.

She's fine. What you experience is only a common skill issue.
Learn to play against m1 killers with no map mobility, long range pressure or projectile attacks!

I think he nailed her last remaining issue tbh.
I actually started playimg at the same time SM was released, so I don't have Skull Merchant PTSD combined with DBD fatigue.
I'd say she's now a pretty fun killer to face. The only issue is she has a lot to her kit, its explained in paragraphs rather than sentences, theres a bit too much going on to get a feel for her power.
You have the Haste and Hindered effect somewhere in all that clutter, and with so many boosts going on, it's hards to keep track of whats happening, and I feel speed is kinda lame as a boost to just shove stuff into the meta with (cough MFT). The Hindered feels the worst as Pixel mentioned, and I think that's her 1 remaining issue.
I really like the shock idea, that is a really cool addition... though I'm not sure why he only nerfed the Hindered rather than removed it. The skill expression is rotating the drone at the right time, if you herd a survivor with a CT into a drone at a loop, you may catch a Survivor unable to vault. Your skill managing rotations made it a dead zone, and crap SMs (like me) don't just score free downs on Hindered.
So I'd remove the Hindered completely and just take the shock effect.

Sounds like a bad idea, cause I don't like playing Doc, Doc is super weak. I dont need his power in SM. Why would I agree to this?
Sell me on the change, Health and annoyance is subjective and I am struggling in some matches.
Also why would I care if Survivors think I'm annoying to go against, Survivors are pretty annoying to go against too.

I think doctor is his unique own killer. I do not think it is healthy to homogeneous killer powers. Skull merchant's design is more center on how clown works. I agree hindered/haste effects have low skill-cap however my opinion with haste/hindered effects is that anti-loop like that prays on weaker loops in the game but scales poorly as loop becomes stronger. I still break pallets strong pallets like Shack and Jungle gym''s with skull merchant. The skill-cap of using drones at stronger tiles is hitting red laser as you break the pallet on the correct side such that survivor has hard time making it to next tile. Drone placement matter. So my first comment in regards video is that how easy it is to down a survivor depends on the loop. the skill in playing killer is how time efficient you are at getting downs. So yes while bad skull merchant will eventually down survivors, the speed at which you down survivors affects how often you will win on killer. The skill expression in killer is time efficiency. My other comment is that i think doctor shock therapy might be more frustrating to go against because it would eliminate the slide pallet mindgames on pallets.
