I was wrong.
Shortly after Chucky was announced to come into the entity's realm I said I wasn't looking forward to him. That had little to do with me not wanting a new killer but with me not being interested in the license. I watched the first Child's Play film a few years back and to me it was more goofy than anything else. My skepticism carried over to the time Chucky was on the PTB as well (although, admittedly I didn't play much DBD over the past couple weeks).
On the PTB I wasn't too interested in playin Chucky either, so I straight up skipped this one. I had heard however, that many were quite happy with how Chucky turned out, so I decided to spend the 500 auric cells and give it a go and let me just say, the last 3 games as Chucky were the most fun I've had in DBD in quite a while. The third person camera feels a bit weird and definitely takes some getting used to but it's something entirely new for a killer and allows for some interesting plays. The power is incredibly strong in the right hands, I think (not that I am any good with it yet) and a ton of fun to play around with and the voice lines (at least for now) are pretty funny.
Turns out, I had low expectations and got a pretty good killer. Thank you, BHVR. You have truly done a pretty good job so far. Might even watch some of the newer films now.
