Unhook Bug??

In one of my matches against a Tiffany, I couldn't unhook a survivor. I kept re-interacting for the prompt but it kept blank. I did use a broken key to see the killer beforehand and there was a lag surge early on. Could it be that my key caused me to glitch out and not be able to save my teammate?
