How am I supposed to get better?
I'm pretty new to playing survivors, and I just don't understand how people automatically seem to know where I'm at, how they're capable of tracking me near perfectly (at least it feels like it), or even know how to make a build or counter main killers. I'm honestly just confused and want to attempt to be a better survivor for my team, as right now, I'm more of a hinderance because I usually die first.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, I'm getting more frustrated each match.

I would definitely suggest watching some video tutorials on YouTube and then going against the Trappper bot in the tutorial mode until you feel like it's too easy. That's when you can put the information you gained from advanced tutorials into practice without it hindering your team in any form. Experience does do that naturally, but it's a painstakingly long process.

My advice, play Killers or at least watch how Killer Mains play, but also learn what perks the Killers are bringing. Aura perks are a big one, Lethal Pursuer, I'm All Ears, and Nowhere To Hide are good picks for Killer mains to find or track Survivors.
Also beware of gen progress, if they see you on a generator at about 90%, they're likely going to stay near that generator until they're confident they have time until it pops. So go work on a different generator rather than staying there waiting for them to leave.
But for the kind of perks you should be using, Windows of Opportunity, Bond, Empathy, anything that lets you find other people or pallets is a good perk.
But to get good at looping, play Killer. Watch what Survivors do when you play Killer, and when you play Survivor, think about what the Killer would be thinking about and use it against them.
