Deadlock needs to be nerfed
Deadlock is a perk that any time a gen is finished, the gen with the most progress is blocked for 30 seconds
It's a simple perk and functional but hear me out, this perk has 0 skill to use, because it's very simple, you have to do nothing to get it's value, you can go afk and you would still gain it's value
Another fact is, every killer that uses deadlock just hard tunnel because they have more time doing it because of deadlock, survivors are punished for doing the objective, and imo this is not okay
I suggest put a token system in this perk, like No way out, my nerf would be like
Deadlock blocks the gen with the most progress for 10 seconds, however, any time you hook a survivor for the first time, gains a token, each token increases the block duration for 5 seconds (This is tier 3 btw)
This perk would basically be the same, but having a skill requirement would be the best ideia to balance this perk!

It takes zero skill to fly through the gens, address that first THEN you can talk about a Deadlock nerf.

You are saying doing the objective takes 0 skill but gens do not fly while you are stading still
With dealock you can use while stading still and still works

Its already possible to completely counter this perk, it doesnt need a nerf.
16 -
You are saying to leave a gen 99? then survivors has to do 6 gens
against nurse blight etc you don't have time to do 6 gens

You forgot the part where deadlock becomes basekit and THAN nerfed, because i didn't notice even my fast chases could stop 2 or 3 gens from poping in first 2 minutes of the match.
Also, if "this perk doesn't need skill to use" is only requirement for nerfs, i'm afraid, we need to nerf half of all perks in the game, especially on survivor side.

I think this would kill the perk. The time when you hook all the 4 survivors would be the time when only 1~2 gens left. At that moment, you will barely get value from there imo.

Killers are not blind.
Generators have no barrier to keep killers out.
To hide or run away from the killer,
Requires skills.

no

Your idea is an even worse version of Grim Embrace.
8 -
What? The strat is to leave the first gen 99d, do four more then instapop the last one. thats 5.

I'd be okay with Deadlock being nerfed if adrenaline gets nerfed too. Something like adrenaline only heals you if you haven't taken a protection hit and, if the killer is currently chasing you, you don't get a speed burst. Also, make it not heal hooked survivors.

Big nope
8 -
Almost all of the perks in the game require no skill to use.

The perk helps against Genrush. If you need 4 unique hooks before it has the current strength, you incentivise to tunnel more, as killers have less time to chase for long. With your idea the perk would be strong when the team is already struggling, and weak when it is needed most, which is not good design.

I think it needs a rework. Deadlock is just dumb and strong. It gives huge value for 0 effort. The killer could stand afk for the entire match and deadlock would still provide massive slowdown.
The counterplay to this perk is very hard and almost non-existent.
Genuinely one of the most awful killer perks right now.
I refuse to use it.

I think people are overvaluing the amount of time deadlock saves
5 -
I think it's enough time to tunnel and maintain a 3v1 game with 2 gens, and I say that as a killer main.
0 -
It already had 0 synergy with other slowdown perks, maybe except Corrupt.
Any nerf will make it useless. It's already not that strong perk.
Just get one far gen to 99% and keep him there -> deadlock is useless.

I dislike that the Perk functions without the killer doing anything. That's my only issue with it.
1 -
nope Deadlock is balance
survivor even can use dead lock just like the Repressed Alliance.
and deadlock is manageable too.
2 -
yeah dude lets compare survivor and killer objectives.
1 requires skill and the other requires holding just a button and unlike survivors the killers spawn at the start of the match with 0 preassure on gens and unless they are running corrupt they 99% of time will lost 2 gens at the first 2 minutes of the match.
also you can 99% a gen to avoid punishing your teammates and since your gen will get blocked at 99% the killer will be forced to stay there or just giving that gen for free. (lose / lose situation for the killer) 🙄

i laughed when i saw the title

It doesn’t need a nerf.. stop gen rushing
3 -
Umm..no. Is an excellent perk and 90% of the people in this thread would agree.
1 -
I dont say it's weak.
The opposite. It's really strong.
As I said, it's too strong for the absolute lack of input from the killer.
Take other similar perks for example. Grim embrace. You have to hook all survivors once for it to even activate. And then it sometimes gives you even less time than deadlock.
I'm for perks that give you huge value for effort.
Devour hope for example gives huge value but needs a little luck, hookstages and the killer not camping.
Now look at deadlock. No input needed. Huge value gained.

Deadlock is only slightly valuable to keep genrush at bay, and even then it's countered by survivors splitting up on gens and pressuring multiple spots.
5 -
Deadlock is fine. Gen rush is fast enough...take things like deadlock and corrupt intervention and it will become unbearable.
3 -
Rank 1 survivor and killer of 6 years here.
Deadlock is perfectly fine. Putting it plain and easy. Survivors have EVERYTHING in their advantage. Gens are too fast. Running from the killer is so damn easy that it doesnt matter. Every aspect of killer and survivor has its ups and downs but killer has millions more downs than survivors. Survivors have literally anything they want and yet survivor one tricks still be whining about anything and everything.
Every aspect of the game has been ruined by survivor players like you crying about the only things killers get to use. Killers are basically required to run 4 gen stopping perks because gens are too fast. Now am I saying I use 4 gen stopping perks? No. In fact I run the total opposite of meta because I am in fact not a one trick pony. I play survivor and killer and can keep them rank 1 with any loadout and against any loadout. Because thats what you're supposed to do.
But while deadlock doesnt really need anything done to it. There are other perks way more menacing and way more powerful that most people overlook because they are survivor players. Survivor one tricks do not understand the game. Killer one tricks do not understand the game. You would see that if you didn't have a cloud of survivor syndrome over your head. But maybe you don't have that cloud and instead you are tired of the meta slaving that we have to do.
DBD is in a very bad state and it's all the communities fault. Mostly survivor players and nurse players.

It's all the developers fault. They encourage civil war between the player base - Killer vs Survivor. Imagine constantly punishing one role for trying to do their objective, while appeasing the complaints of the other by giving them hand held mechanics

Come back after 10 secs? its not like the gen is put back to 0.
