Miserable new player experience.

Yeah, I have 2k hours and keep playing, but I really wouldn't want to start playing from 0.
matchmaking, grind, paywall etc.
but good luck for you, if you want to play survivor, it's better to start SWF, so you have players to teach you. Starting soloQ only is going to be hell.

Not to mention the cheats, the game have been heavily infested with cheaters for at least 1,5 year now.
And the irony is that the makers of the so called anti cheat (EAC) are also own the platform (EGS) that is biggest host of cheaters, i see a lot of red flags here...

It comes down to the players. Some don't play to play others just want to make the game unenjoyable. I was actually told this lots of times by killers that just tunnel out at 5 gens they just want to ruin as many peoples day. They did change matchmaking because it was in the survey. How I became better at survivor is started playing killer, learn from your prey. You will learn loops, pallet distance, mind game, even predict which perks a killer is using.
But don't worry right now survivor is rough in soloq for lots, not just beginners. Try not trust the high Prestige either they tend to screw you.

It gets better trust me. I started about 6 months ago and starting out it is infuriating as both Killer and Survivor. I think because there's not enough new players to fill constant games with them, I remember playing against a P100 Survivor who looped me for 5 gens on my 3rd game. It's rough, it doesn't help that they removed 3 super good perks on Killer side, including the only regression perk Killers had baseline.
If you stick to it I promise you'll get better and start having more fun, that was my experience at least.

Honestly, I think the best thing to do is stay away from the game. It's clear the devs have their "strong" beliefs on what their game should be (aka, inability take constructive criticism) while catering almost exclusively to killer mains and nerfing pretty much everything the survivors have at their disposal.
The new survivor experience is hell. I was a killer main who moved from PS4 to PC and then met people who wanted me to play survivor, and I honestly think I would have been better off staying as a killer main and never touching survivor. It's not even that there's really a learning curve to the game, it's just how DBD for the survivors is. And that comes from someone who understands each killer and how their powers/perks/add-ons work.
I think for the first week and a half of playing, I was hard carried in each match I played, even if we didn't win. I didn't feel like I was contributing to the success of the team, but I 100% blamed myself for us not winning.
It doesn't help that 90% of the killer base is super toxic and has a major god complex about themselves when they just tunnel, tunnel, tunnel, and tunnel some more, which isn't fun for anyone.
I don't think the MMR is ever going to be fixed, so you'll always be playing with people who have just no-lifed the game until they can find you with their eyes closed, which kind of sucks, but that's the way the devs want their game to be.
If you ever find friends to play it with, it can be a little bit better because then you can actually coordinate, but honestly, if communication isn't a big thing for you or you don't like talking very much, just find a survivor build that you enjoy and can play well with and go with that. Research your perks and use add-ons to maximize their effectiveness.
If you do continue to play the game though, I recommend playing killer and learning how their powers work, what limits them, and how they can be used against them. It's not going to stop the tunneling or other toxic nonsense the devs allow in their game, but it'll at least give you a bit of a chance to "fight" back so to speak.
Also, and this is a big one, work on mindgaming. It's hard to put into words what I mean, but if you watch people on Youtube/Tiktok/whatever you use, you'll see survivor mains running circles around killers. Just attempt to emulate what they do and eventually you'll be running circles around even the most pesky Legions.

The MMR is extremely broken at the moment, I am not sure what changes they made, but they need to just change it back at this point please.
