When there is no hope of restoring power, survivors attempt to play hide-and-seek for their lives. This is highly undesirable for both assailants and survivors. In this situation, someone will tell the killer the location of his or her allies.
To solve this problem, why not allow crows to flock to survivors who do not repair the generator for an extended period of time? Also, make the hatch appear only when there is only one survivor after the gate is energized.
