There's absolutely 0 incentive for players to get better or improve at this game.
Why would anyone on either side want to get better when the highest % winrate strategies are also the easiest, and most skill deprived ones.
Why would the killer not tunnel out one player and take the easy way out when nearly every single map in the game is designed around not looping, pre throwing everything since you'll be at the next pallet before the killer can catch up, or hiding for 90% of the match and just straight up not playing Dead by Daylight.
Why would the survivors not bring maxed out toolboxes to try and leave as soon as possible when every single killer just forces a player out right at the start of the match every single game. why would they not just avoid all contact with the killer when it forces the killer to waste half of the match going back and forth walking around all of the oversized maps just to find a single player.
The best way to win on both sides is to avoid the core gameplay. In a game with a community that's more obsessed with winning, than actually having fun.
Losing to these strategies also feels 10x worse because nobody actually out-played you, they just scammed their way back to the loading screen and called it a "win".
How this game hasn't been in "Operation Health" mode for at least the last 6 months is absolutely beyond me.
The game is currently in a state where not playing is the best way to play.

This is a very valid question, but I know a good answer: these strategies (alone) only work up to a point.
An experienced killer is prepared to deal with pre-running and stealth. If survivors who are otherwise not terribly good try it, he eats them for breakfast. An experienced survivor team is prepared to deal with camping and/or tunneling. They know how to punish otherwise unskilled killers for it.
Also note that while these strategies may work for getting wins, they are very bad for improving in chases.

So true. On top of that the devs like to go nerf happy and just remove anything that might be slightly inconvenient for either side. Why adapt and get better when the devs can take care of it.

What blew my mind the most was when a skill expressive mechanic like 180 flicks on certain characters (Oni, Chucky) have already been removed, or are constantly complained about to the point where they'll both be gone. Even though things like scamper are still as strong as they are. Scamper was Chucky's real issue and still is. The flicks have counterplay, both Oni's weapon and Chucky's had thinner hitboxes on the lunge, so they can be dodged and/or predicted. Scamper is just a scam. But it's easier to scream about it online rather than learn the counter-play. Path of least resistance.

Agree with you there. Flicks make things interesting and create more fun gameplay on both sides, scamper is a bit broken and should be looked into more. Its like when they removed lightburn mechanics which added more variety and interesting ways to interact with the game. I know why they did it but am kind of sad that gameplay features are being removed or simplified to make the game more new player friendly.

Lightburn on Nurse was ok but not on Wraith especially when the Killer isn’t Blight/Nurse tier oppressive to begin with
