Red Herring bug?

I equipped the perk for a few matches yesterday and noticed a silly bug: Red Herring doesn't deactivate after you've activated it twice on the same generator. Meaning you can spam the fake notification from a distance every 40 seconds.
On a side note, it was really fun misleading the killer from a safe distance while my duo did other gens. Wouldn't mind if it becomes a feature. It doesn't give a escape advantage anyway because you can't repair any other generators to progress the match.
