New Lights Out modifier is not fun for killer or survivor, it needs "something more".
I know, it's kind of a generic statement, but hear me out:
- No gen slowdown perks, nothing. No HUD almost. If survivors know +- where gens are, it's extremely easy to just do them. Worse if they know the map by memory in terms of tiles locations for pallets and windows. The best play is to hit and run with killers like Wraith, and spreadinmg hooks seems not rewarding.
- As survivor, the difference between having comms or Kindred, and not, is ######### INSANE. Some survivors just don't heal!
- BOTH SIDES: many of the killers feel forces, kinda, to tunnel, and survivors have no perks to prevent that! This is a double issue since the game's launch, and the lack of perks makes the issue so much worse, especially considering survivors just go for the rescue immediately.
- Both sides: why isn't the number of gens written? just to make things more unfun, in case someone doesn't remember, especially as survivor because you cannot count the gen auras?
- Is there no MMR with this mode? Because I'm getting bad survivors both as survivor and killer.
- Lack of add-ons makes it so stale, playing with default killer or survivor with no item feels boring, if not stale.
LAST PERHAPS: IT'S NOT DARK ENOUGH TO MAKE IT ENOUGH INTERESTING.

Making it darker would just lead to more tunneling as if that's not a big issue as is. Killers wouldn't be able to find anyone so they would just go for the person on hook and problem solved.

I think it's a problem with Dbd since 2016. Tunneling is just the way to counter gen rushing. You "gen rush", then I "tunnel". That's the problem.

Yes, my solo queue team really love to gen rush! We really deserve to get tunneled out at five gens because a gen has a slight bit of progression which could foreshadow a crushing defeat (only a 3k).

It's a problem that needs to be solved for both sides. If the killer finds 4 strong SOLO survivors that gen rush, with no gens slowdown you're literally cooked, especially with bad killers like Trapper or Dredge.

Agreed, the only benefit for survivors is if you're playing SWF, other than that this mode is frustrating and it sucks I have to grind out the totem. They should remove DC penalty. I pretty much never DC from actual matches because there's counterplay, but if the counterplay in this game mode is just watching your team get slugged and camped I'd prefer to DC instantly and try to find a killer who wants to try to have fun with it. It's not scary, it's just frustrating and boring when killers feel like they have to, or in some cases, LOVE camping and slugging because it's easier now.
