please elaborate more on the changes to Decisive Strike, and in the Future.
I have been following the discussion regarding Decisive Strike for quite a long time, there has been endless numbers threads about it on these forums, and I had hoped I would see more closure on the subject.
If you recall in patch 6.1.0 you reduced DS to 3 seconds.
A unscrupulous person might assume weakness in you flipping back on this.
My problem is that I feel it could be better justified, I am perfectly fine with you telling me that well most people asked for this and yeah well it is kind of trash that most of the actual stun duration is spent falling off the Killer's shoulder. What I would like to see if possible would be touching on, if the duration changes ended up being meaningful changes for the perk. I know people will look to the "Dev Note" as the justification for the changes.
Day in and day out I see people arguing over perks in these forums and in argument we sometimes have to guess cause and justification. I think today was just a very clear example. When I look to that dev note, I have to spell out the logical conclusion myself in my head. I am perfectly fine thinking critically and looking for the logical conclusion to your dev notes, but I think that is because I have a lot of good faith built up over many years of good service. But many people I have seen don't do this and I think they need a little more direction on these conclusions you make.
Based on what info you given me, me not knowing all the secret developer knowledge, I would have said:
The Survivor is locked in place for part of the stun while they are being dropped by the Killer, so it didn’t leave them with much time to run away once they hit the ground. This leaves the user far worse off that other stun perks, a crucial weakness when the Perk can only activate once per match when compared to other anti-tunnel perks. We have increased the duration of the stun to give the Survivor a fair chance to create some distance.
I hope in the future we can get dev notes that go a little deeper to tell us what the many reasons behind the changes, and not just because I wish your dev notes made it easier to argue with people on these forums. ;)
I swear its really about making information more clear and direct from you, even for bad faith interlocutors.
Happy Easter.
