Why does DBD make my computer restart/bluescreen?

Asking for a friend, who has consistently had their computer restart or straight up bluescreen when trying to run the game. It works normally for a few seconds/minutes, and then randomly crashes without warning. All her drivers are up to date, her PC has good enough specs to run it, she's tried everything apart from updating BIOS. Any ideas?
