I NOW Understand What's Wrong With This Game DBD

Playing as a killer the majority of the time in my almost 4k hours, one starts to see the flaws very clearly. First, the killer is outnumbered, and while the survivors do not pose a threat to the killer health-wise, that is beside the point, since the premise is to stop generator progression. Therefore, thwarting escape.

Playing as the killer is divided in to four tasks. Stop the generators from being completed, finding survivors, chasing survivors, and hooking survivors, on top of some other tertiary things like setting up a tool like bear traps, hexes, etc. That is a daunting task, especially when you consider that the killer has to be able to do all these things within the FEW minutes it takes for the survivors to spread out and do a generator. The maps are riddled with looping points that are so efficient (in the survivor's favor) that it's more advantageous to drop the chase altogether, especially if you're playing with someone like Trapper who basically doesn't have ANY powers. He (Trapper for example) is so generic that it's laughable to think he can compete with seasoned TTV players that have become familiar with all tech exploits in the game, or know all map points. This is on top of the fact that too many players are hacking/cheating.

It's become almost basic expectation that survivors are guaranteed to complete two generators in the time it takes to set up, search, and chase. This means that the killer really only has a three generator time-frame before the survivors have the ability to escape. And in order to achieve a 4k the killer has to hook survivors collectively a total of TWELVE times. That is ridiculous!

IMO I think it's diminishing to the experience of horror for chases to be likened to a game of Tag with revered killers like Michael Myers having to chase a survivor around a table, or some other obstacle. The game has very limiting animations for all characters in the game, especially killers that feel very robotic.

The game comes across as confused with it's purpose for the killer. Do you want killers to stop generator progression or do you want the survivors to be hooked and killed? Doing both is taxing and not conducive when you consider the lack of viable perks to help in the endeavor.

The game would work so much better if killers had certain inherent terrain skills depending on their stature. For example: Trapper, Nemesis, Oni, should be able to walk straight through a dropped pallet with a brief slow down in their speed. None of this stopping to hit a pallet twice.

There should have never been a hooking mechanic to begin with. The way it should have worked was for killers to be able to hunt down survivors, NO GENERATORS in the match. Just looking for five key components that are required to open the gate. Each component is randomly scattered throughout the map by the Entity, and every 60 secs, the item is relocated. If a killer were to down a survivor, the killer DOES NOT pick up the survivor. Instead the downed survivor gets pulled in to the ground by the Entity and is relocated to a new random section of the map away from the killer (similar to Executioner's cage) with an endurance boost for a few seconds. Once the killer downs a survivor for the third time, that killer can use their mori or the survivor can be pulled into the ground screaming. This approach would stream-line the gameplay experience, and make things more fair for the players playing killers.

There are other suggestions I have to make the game way better, but I'm not getting paid for this. However, I am paying to get the most out of a game I want to enjoy. Think about it. The new look to the store is good. Trapper needs an overhaul. He is OUTDATED to the point of almost being a meme.

I wanted to further add about Trapper that it makes no sense for him to be injured or hindered by his own bear traps. The whole theme of the character is that he is a sadomasochist with all the metal pipes, spikes and nails stuck in his skin, so why does stepping on a bear trap bother him? I think it would be more creepy to watch someone step on a bear trap and keep walking like nothing happened. The bear traps should be changed to mechanical traps that open up on their own after certain time has lapsed. His very rare add-ons should have nothing to do with his traps but rather him as a killer in order to keep up with the killers that have powers.

Maybe one of his add-ons could cause him to get angry whenever a player stuns him, and for 10 seconds he can walk straight throw pallets and walls face first like a juggernaut and keep going without slowing down. This would make him scarier. The second very rare add-on lets him throw caltrops or bolas down as an alternative to bear traps. As he is, he can not compete with the Huntress who's more efficient at capturing her prey. The most she has to do is open a locker to resupply. Throwing her hatchets is just a matter of time and skill.

I do like the idea of survivors being moved to another part of the map after being caught. But unfortunately, too much of the game has been built up around hooks and carrying survivors. So there's unfortunately no realistic way this can be implemented.
