Changing controls for Xbox controller on pc don’t work

sooo i just started playing the game with my xbox controller as i wanted to try it out. i want to change some of the controls buuuut when i try doing that nothing happens. whats the catch ? is that normal? do i really have to walk as a survivor with freakin LB lol ?

I'm on PC Steam and was trying to change some of my keybinds, and it wouldn't let me. I had to reset to default and restart the game for it to let me change anything..
edit: I was attempting to change 'use item' and 'wiggle left/right' if that helps!
