Suggestion: Rewarding doing the player’s main objective Rework

Hello!

I feel like I have an interesting suggestion that would be a pretty major update if it were to get implemented into the game. I feel that this idea would greatly reward the killer and survivors alike for doing their main objectives. (For survivors it would be activating generators, and for killers it would be hooks. I am writing this suggestion with hooks in mind, as the buffs would activate more frequently, and also encourage fun gameplay from killers! By rewarding hooks, the killers are incentivized to go for more chases, and to not camp hooks!).

So here’s the idea. What if every time a killer gets a hook or the survivors complete a generator, they get some kind of customizable permanent buff for the rest of the match? For those confused as to how this would work I’ll elaborate.

These customizable buffs would be chosen BEFORE the match, similarly to perks. For example, it could go something like this: A killer is able to choose between two or three permanent buffs that activate on their FIRST hook of the game. They will be small buffs, but gradually become more powerful with each hook.

Example: The killer can choose to gain one of the following on their first hook of the game:

1.) 1% permanent increase to speed

2.) A permanent 2 meter terror radius decrease

3.) A permanent 3% faster generator progress reduction rate, for when a generator is damaged by the killer.

Now obviously these are first drafts and some may be too strong, or some may be too weak, but hopefully everyone understands what I mean by this. You would be able to choose ONE of the three previously stated upgrades to be activated upon your first hook of the match. With each subsequent hook, the buffs would become stronger. For example, upon hooking a second player, it could become a 1.5% speed boost, a 4 meter terror radius decrease, or a 5% faster generator reduction speed.

This would also add a greater degree of customization to different killers! It might not be the best idea for a stealth killer like Wraith or Ghostface to choose the terror radius reduction. They may want to choose the speed increase so they can sneak up on unsuspecting survivors a bit quicker.

Those buffs would become more powerful until reaching a total of 4 hooks. Upon reaching 4 hooks, brand new buffs would be given to the player. Some early first drafts of these include:

1.) A permanent 15% decrease in the cooldown of the killer’s ability.
2.) A permanent 5% repair speed debuff for all survivors
3.) A permanent 20% healing speed debuff for all survivors

Once again, these are early first drafts of them, but they would get more powerful until reaching the 7th hook, where new and more powerful abilities would be awarded to the killer!

I also suggest the same thing for survivors, so that they are not left out of the fun of this new system. However, I would like to note that I don’t think the permanent buffs should be applied to ALL survivors. I feel they should be strictly personal, so all survivors cannot choose and give their team every single buff.

So the survivors would choose one of the following upgrades BEFORE the match begins. These would activate upon completing the FIRST generator in the trial:

1.) A permanent and PERSONAL 2% generator repair speed bonus.

2.) A permanent and PERSONAL 10% healing speed bonus when healing self, and other players.

3.) A permanent and PERSONAL 15% reduction in the usage rate of items, like flashlights and medkits. (Basically your items will last longer!)

These buffs would become stronger upon the completion of the second and third generators. For example they might go from a 2% repair speed to a 4%, and then a 6%. The healing speed might go from 10%, to 15%, and then 20% upon completion of the third generator. The item usage might go from a 15% reduction to a 20%, and then a 25%.

When completing the 4th generator the survivors would unlock brand new abilities. I think everyone understands what I’m saying at this point.

I really would appreciate you guys considering this change. This would allow players to customize their playstyles even further, and in a very rewarding way. By giving these buffs to killers for each hook (instead of kills!) it promotes fun gameplay, by incentivizing the killer to go for multiple chases and hooks. This would dissuade the killer from camping hooks even more, by making them more powerful with each hook.
