Having Rift Outfits and Charms in the Store is unbelievably cheap on BHVR's part

So buying the Rift Pass is for outfit exclusivity for only a few months, but if you missed an outfit or charm because you didn't type in a weird code within a 2 day time period that is an exclusive outfit forever?

I don't really mind if ALL skins and outfits come to the store but to have code skins exclusive but rift skins come in the store is really weird. I can't think of one other game that places rift skins back into the store. Like all that grinding 2 years ago was for nothing.

Cool I'm not buying your rift anymore if there is no exclusivity.

Not to be rude or anything, but they clearly stated from the start that cosmetics CAN appear in the store at least 6 months after the rift is closed. So you could know that would be the case.

You should buy Battle passes and cosmetics only to support the game anyway. Don't fall for FOMO or vanity.

    Pretty much all said.

While I do understand, that it's very weird that some skins remain exclusive (Nea and Spirit had some from what I know), skins do reappear for people that missed out on them.

Fomo is bad in any sense of the way.

If you want exclusivity so bad, the deep rift skins have not appeared again so there you go.

Ideally everything appears in the store at some point.

THE DEEP RIFT EXISTS FOR A REASON.

The Deep Rift stuff was specifically said by BHVR to NOT come back to the store. This creates a system where players who WANT exclusivity can get the Deep Rift reskins, and the players who are against FOMO can just opt into getting the normal ones from the shop or Rift normally.

This system was specifically created to cater to both crowds without being too overbearing on a particular crowd.

I will never understand this mentality of wanting stuff that others should not get a chance to get later on..

What would you even get out of that? People asking you where you got it and you can answer 'sucks to be you as you cant get it!'? Thats kinda awful

People want to feel special and different, the issue is that doing so removes the potential for others to actively enjoy something.

E.g. I really want the Marine Guardian set for Nea because I like the way the shirt looks, but said set just hasnt returned for literal years now. When asking around about it, a lot of people were really defensive about it returning since "it removes what was special about it" since people care more about the individuality of something being rare as opposed to something actually looking nice.

If you look at other games, this can also be seen…

Way back in the early days of Fortnite, a skin called "Recon Expert" became really eye catching for players since it was incredibly rare. The skin was ugly, and sold so poorly that it never showed up in the item shop as a result. Epic Games saw the hype around the skin's rarity and re-released it. People bought into it because "the rare skin is back" and now the skin is literally never talked about or used, since people only cared about the rarity, and now that the rarity is gone, there was no reason to care for it.

In TF2, some items can be obtained through loot crates that have special properties too them. Rather it be intended, or glitches, some things have a finite property to them where only a limited amount of them exist. Some people have permanently deleted these items from their accounts for charity, but it has resulted in those people being harassed constantly on Steam for doing it because they got rid of rare items that people feel entitled to the potential of owning it, even if they do not actively own it, the idea of them being able to potentially have it gives them the "justification" to harass someone.

My point is, people care more about the prospect of things being rare, finite, or providing some level of exclusivity or individuality.

I wish this wasnt a thing though, not much I can really do about it.
