On PS5, can't see a friend or join each other anymore.

We've played before but now when I try to join him through the PS5 UI, it shows him as anonymous and he doesn't appear in the game friend list at all. When I try to join it says "Accept Invitation Failed". He said the same thing happens to him but I think he can see me online, I'll have to make sure on that, but yeah. Anyone have a fix?
