What happened was this:
I downed Leon and went to pick him up. One of the other Survivors tried to flashlight blind me as I hit Q to remote hook Leon. I think the game got confused between hooking him, and enduring the stun, and then just had no idea where he was after that.
As the video shows, I was unable to then hook him by any means, nor could I drop him. Pallet and flashlight stuns were equally ineffective. He also did not die during the Endgame Collapse, and I had to manually quit the game, lest I be stuck in an empty map forever.
I wasn't recording during the initial incident, but this is what happened after.
