Blood Pact not reducing obsession chance

I've been playing with Object of Obsession and messing around with different builds to reduce my chances of being the obsession at the start of the match to avoid the 30 second aura reading timer.

Anyway, the perk "For the People" and the Key addon "Unique Wedding Ring" are working, and correctly reduce the chances of me becoming the obsession. They don't guarantee I will never be the obsession, but I have had many games where these effects both work (on their own each).

The issue is— I've tested countless games now with "Blood Pact" and every single time I'm still considered the obsession when running it together with Object of Obsession. The only time I haven't been so far is if someone else in the lobby is using Object of Obsession too.

I'm not sure if something got messed up a couple years ago when Blood Pact and Object of Obsession were bugged and showing the killer's aura permanently, and when they fixed that, maybe it messed up Blood Pact's obsession decrease effect?

Anyone else experiencing this? I really wanted these 2 perks to work together :/

I don't think it's a bug, take for example Object of Obsession increases our chance of becoming obsession by 50% while Blood Pact reduces our chance of becoming obsession by 50%, doesn't that make it 0% or normal? Normal = obsession is chosen randomly again.

Try using 2 "decrease chance" becoming obsession perk or item + 1 Object of Obsession.

I know what you're saying. I made this post after nearly 50 games as the obsession using this perk combo. So, I think Blood Pact is not reducing obsession chance as much as For the People or the Key addon.

On the wiki, it says they all reduce the chance by 100%, which SHOULD mean Object of Obsession's "obsession increase" should cancel out, but it seems like it's not canceling out and it's more like Blood Pact is reducing the chance by something more so like 50% or 75% meaning the odds of becoming the obsession with this perk combo is still increased over the base chance.

I already said in my post that For the People on its own, and the key addon- on its own have canceled out the obsession chance more often than Blood Pact ever has, leading me to believe that Blood Pact isn't correctly reducing the chance of becoming the obsession on par with the other 2 ways like it should be.

I don't have data but I believe the 50%-75% example you mentioned makes more sense. I've also played obsession status because i was aiming for the second function of Object of Obsession (every time our aura is revealed to the killer, the killer's aura is also revealed to us) and I think it works against Weave Attunement, sorry a bit off topic.

Yeah. Either Blood Pact's obsession reduction effect is mathematically under the proposed 100% reduction, or I'm EXTREMELY unlucky. Which makes no sense since like I said, For the People and the key addon Unique Wedding Ring have kept me from becoming the obsession many times.

And for the record, yes, it does work against Weave Attunement. It works against any aura reading done by the killer.
