The good, the bad, and the twisted... Masquerade

The confetti is being swept up, the left overs put in the fridge, and Tryks kicked to the curb (I don't hate her) There are a few issues with the event.

I think the Screech Cobbler, along with other similar offerings including the Bloody Party Streamers but NOT the Survivor Pudding/Escape Cake should be changed from Event/Rare Offerings to Party Offerings and their bonus to only apply to other players who offered a Party Offering. A minor issue, but annoying to have 4 players offer a Cobbler and the 5th player put in a map offering and also benefits from the other 4 Cobblers.

The Twisted Masquerade event cards:

  1. Healed You, Exposed You- I think majority least favorite event card
  2. The Party Totems- felted very limiting that not everyone had access to their bounty. I think the Party Totems should be more like to Blood Moon circles where a certain distance near a totem provides a tremendous bonus to BP gains OR they provide a buff or debuff. For example one Totem would give survivors +10% healing speed and killers +10% action speed (breaking/vaulting) while a debuff totem can delay the sound of skill checks by 0.2 seconds and slow killers action speed by 10%.
  3. The Party Chests- gave absolutely no benefit to killers, they couldn't open them to get BP bonus and leave the item inside and if they made the mistake of being near one when they pop open, the killer suffers a stun. Party Chest were the only card that gave killers no benefit. Also matches that did not have the Party Totems/Chests event paled in comparison to match BP numbers that did have them

The Twisted Powers:

  1. The Quiet Mode- I found quite frustrating at times, it provides 3 perks to survivors for 15 seconds. Quick n Quiet, Light-Footed and Iron Will. In a game that relies heavily on being able to track players it can stay but be limited to one thing, but not the quiet foot falls. It can mask 1 fast action or mute healing sounds or provide maybe an 80% iron will
  2. Remote Pallet Break- as a killer main, I would agree that it is a little obnoxious, especially since a survivor can't vault it as it breaks. It really feels like old Chucky pallet Scamped into an M1… bargain deal for a limited time only. I would suggest maybe a Remote Generator Block function to block a generator for 5-10 seconds, we can debate on the duration.
  3. Remote Hook- I personally feel is fine as it mostly only saves the killer 5-8 seconds BUT with some adjustments. I hear survivors complain that you can't save survivors from it, but I have experienced people succeeding at it, even though I mashed my button for it. It is a literal STRICT timing which majority of survivors are NOT use to since the window to get flashlight saves got bigger, they're not use to critical timing. Changes I feel it needs… First, NO vertical access, no free basement hooks or hooking a survivor on a hook above or below you as it saves way too much time for the killer. Second change, you can only activate Remote Hook for the first few seconds of picking up the survivor. A killer being able to pick up a survivor and walk for 15 seconds then Remote Hook a survivor on the Scourge Hook they got closer to seems too good a scenario.

Tombstones…. if you play the Twisted Masquerade event, I believe the Tombstone add-ons should be un able to be equipped.

Wait, it was the party chests that were causing me to get stunned? I legitimately thought that was some kind of super secret survivor power. It saved someone I was carrying to a hook on two occasions, and also convinced me some megastealth survivor Head On'd me as I was passing by a locker. Yeah, bad card, needs to give something for the killer.

I loved the party totems, but I thought it was annoying that there was less benefit if the killer was running hexes - Plaything would often turn this card into nothing at all. And it was very irritating to have them go off when you were on a hook and not have the opportunity to get in on the bloodpoints.

I disagree that BP offerings for everyone should be changed to only share BP with other players who use them, because you make those offerings worthless and less fun/nice in the offseason. Instead, I think a solution would be so that you can only benefit from event cards/bloodpoints if you bring a cake. Boom. Not bringing cake in the event mode now means you might get 30% outsped and other players are walking out with 90k score from party items when you only have 20k. See how many people bring moris and escape cakes now. And if you don't have cakes or want to use another offering, you play in the normal game mode and there's no penalty. Simple.

I like your changes to remote hooks - the vertical access is huge, killers could gain so many seconds by throwing the survivor into a bad location like basement or Forgotten Ruins dungeon. But preventing them from being used instantly and allowing more opportunity for saves is also vital.

There were a lot of tombstone Myers players in my survivor games. Some people just want to watch the world burn. Though I think that's less a problem with the event mode and more that they just obviously need to be looked at (Piece should have been dead years ago, Judith's is balanced but interminably boring.)
