Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

About the Character Select Screen (as well as in the Shop)

I am sure everyone can agree that the new select screen is… new, to say the least. Though I think rather than just saying revert it back there should be some aspects talked about why they are bad.

First off, thank goodness the amount per row was taken back to four. This keeps the "4 killers a year" symbolism nicely. However… with the latest killer/survivor being taken to the front, it messes up with the flow of released chapters.

  • Character select should stay in order of release.
    • Unless it is Lullaby in the Dark as that is a free chapter.

I personally find this change coming from the fact that the store got an upgrade. While overall positive, the worst part about it is when wanting to look at a character's outfit in the store, you have to; select survivor or killer > select character > customization > then select OUTFIT because it starts off with an individual piece???

Not only that but this carries over to the main select screen where it is select character > customization > then select OUTFIT when in the past it used to just be select customization and boom you are in the menu to select a full outfit and have the choice to pick individual pieces.

  • Please, at the very least, customization should automatically go into outfit to see the full set.
    • If the player wants to see the individual pieces, they can. While one button press may seem very minor, it greatly affects the flow of navigation and feel of the shop. Especially with the fact that some outfits are linked.

Ideally, I would like customization and bio to be moved as buttons on the left column where it is now quite empty, but if that is not an option then the only QoL I can ask for is that customization starts on outfits.

Finally, minor annoyance but, the search bar is way to big. A search bar is fine! In fact, probably good for those who do not want to scroll. But compared to the perk search bar it is way to big, taking up almost half a character portrait.

  • Make search bar just a little bigger than the perk search bar, or the same size even!
    • The search bar is not bad, even if some call it unnecessary, it is a good addition overall.
