Spending BP as Killer in 2v8

Hard to imagine but my main Killers are not among the 5 we can play.. Who would've thought that some people might like to spend their BP during those horrendous queue times (which are understandable) to be a little productive.. But, guess what, we can't.. Why is that? Why can't I queue up with one of those 5 Killers and still switch to another one to spend those BP like in the regular mode?
