2v8 was a fun experiment but...
Lets be real it just showcases how bad the solo queue survivor experience is. It's like normal solo queue on steroids.
People are just afking now for the BP bonus. Killer is only fun because it's literally like shooting fish in a barrel.
I for one wouldn't be disappointed if they ended the event tomorrow and normalised queue times again with BP bonuses back to normal mode.
It also proves that there really isn't any place for additional modes in the game due to the horrendous queue times if you want to play Killer.

I’m really enjoying it. Solo Q player 99% of the time.
The hook changes have massively improved it for for me - no slugging, no camping, no sweating and very little tunnelling. No self sacrificing on first hook.
killers who have committed to the mode are actually quite strong but because the games can go so quickly youre sacrificed and into another match quicker which is more evocative of F13 or Texas Chainsaw, which is something I always felt they did better than DBD, it’s not a big deal.
The classes load outs have gotten rid of the useless perks and forced me into using other play styles. It’s also been designed to work in a much more balanced way for the perks that’s are there.
I can count on one hand the amount of people who have disconnected from matches too compared to it being virtually one every match in normal mode.
Perhaps some of these ideas could be translated back to the main mode to speed it up, but personally, I’m dreading going back to the main mode as it’s going to seem so slow and boring by comparison.1 -
Yeah there's aspects that could definitely be incorporated I to the main game. I've always thought the hook/cage idea would have been a good way to combat camping and tunneling which is why most people DC in the first place.
As far as people not dcing I'm going to guess thats more to do with the 400% BP bonus that anything else. It's also very fast to actually just do the minimum and ######### on hook and still get a good whack of BP. This seems to be what is happening in a lot of my games now. People just aren't playing properly or doing gens. Killers are just snowballing and having a field day because of thiseven though they're getting little BP per game and having to wait 10-15 mins. Normal mode killer queue is also significantly longer which is pretty annoying.

Meanwhile 2v8 is the only reason Im playing DBD again and having fun like if they never bring this mode back and never expand on it I do not see myself returning to DBD often 😭

It is really bad. If your mates are not doing gens then the game is lost

There are some promising features I believe could be implemented in regular mode (hooks/cages moving if a killer approaches or tries to proxy camp)… and this game mode is cool for the novelty. But I don’t generally see it as one many survivors would return to playing. It just becomes so tedious.

I mean it's even worse because there is 2 killers around and 8 gens to do + gens are very close to each other
