Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Rework Game Afoot

Title. I want to preface this by saying that I don't think the perk is too strong, and I don't see this becoming a common build, but I'd like to point out that it simply isn't fun or interactive. Game Afoot can be run alongside Rancor (and NOED) to insta-kill survivors after the last gen is done.

Now, again, I want to point out that I don't see this catching on. I see it as a very boring way to choose to play, so I doubt it will become popular. I just think that it's unhealthy to have perk combinations that are, for lack or a better phrase, anti-gameplay.

I suppose Rancor could be changed instead, but I feel like that's probably more controversial than a SM perk that is almost never seen. Either way, I don't really feel like debating it so if you disagree then so be it.

i am waiting for them to buff gameafoot to switch obsession on every hit instead of most chased survivor. how they could ever nerf a perk that 0.50% pick-rate.

I'd say that's why it's interactive and fun.

You need to run 3 perks and get to endgame for that to work. You also have to keep in mind who you chased the longest. Personally I run it with Furtive Chase and Nemesis on my stealth builds, really interesting combo.

If anything, Game Afoot would need a buff.

    pretty pleaseeee.

if rancor is that bad of a problem, they could make that after completing a mori animation, the perk deactivates but i think that takes away from fun aspect of rancor.

Not all perks need to be strong in isolation, nor should they be. Perks must be balanced around how they will perform when combined with other perks. Almost no one plays this game running only 1 or 2 perks after all. In this regard I believe Game Afoot performs its duty quite well and doesn't need significant changes. It is a perk that shines and is interesting when combined with others. I see no issue with this.
