Survivor problems

Yes I know, another entitled survivor complaining. I've played this game since it came out, on different platforms & during each different "meta" I quit for a year after nemesis came out, not because his chapter was bad it just seemed to be a serious low-point for many actually. That being said the problems exist at the moment that are hurting the community & are destroying the game. For 1 the 2v8 mode is not fun on survivor side, killer side is great but survivor some how feels even more infuriating to know the team is double the size & yet still just as stupid if not more sucks. Now sure it's argued "get good" & "you just suck, you're probably not helping either" the problem is if you're just trying to actually play & do the objective it shouldn't matter, you're trying to play the game you paid for. This game has an objective you try to do it. Not just troll around or go afk or quit the second you get downed once.

The 2v8 mode has highlighted a lot, especially things that affect regular dbd too. 1 of which being the state of tunneling in dbd. You can be insanely good at looping, it will only get you so far, if you get downed, camped & tunneled you still just don't survive. While a good swf can usually conquer anything that's just that situation. Getting tunneled though is not just the god level loopers, it's casual players too, who don't have that skill as it were. You paid for this game in most cases & you pay for chapters, cosmetics & all this so you can go literally game to game to game back to back getting tunneled out. You spend most of your time in the lobby. That's not fun. Dbd should never be about finding fun in the game SOMEHOW, it should still be the game it's meant to be. Players give up for the day after less than an hour, some quite entirely. It's not fair, it's not fun & the game wasn't always like this. It has wholesome moments but even that's not a save, the killer is still meant to be doing their objective too. But to know you're potentially just going to fall victim to it sucks. Players don't let a bot take over they just get hooked & make sure they take themselves out of the match. It's ridiculous.

I'm saying a lot already but another major issue highlighted by 2v8 also problematic in regular dbd. You can be the last survivor & yet it feels like no matter how hard you try to SURVIVE in the most dire situation the odds are stacked against you. Scenario* 4v1, 3 out so it's just 1v1 with the killer. Hatch is closed & you have no gate perks, injured with a key & active deliverance we'll say. Because it's endgame, deliverance does nothing now, the hatch it's not clearly visible & the killer can patrol both gates no problem. You get close to opening it finally & get caught, you spotted hatch on the way but that doesn't matter. You can't do anything, despite deliverance, despite the key & despite the killer already technically having the win with 3/4 kills already. Why are the odds stacked against the 1 player left? If a player sits around doing nothing all game sure their teammates won't wish for them to escape, but if you also just didn't get caught all game & everything else around you went wrong but you survive, whatever the situation, why are you as the last one left punished for doing what you're technically meant to do, SURVIVE?

While I know every killer will argue with this that or the other, it's still ridiculous. I play a bit of both sides granted more survivor but I don't want to tunnel, I don't want to try so hard for a 4k when a 3k still counts, if I get the last I get them but if you get outplayed that's just how it is. While it's always argued camping & tunneling are playstyles, it doesn't change the fact that survivors are meant to be at the disadvantage anyway & fairly getting outplayed on either side is totally fine. It still has to be considered though how fun the game is when the players that are there for the killer to have something to do are steadily going away because they're sick of being unable to do nothing except "get good" that's not the argument. Survivors now have the deck stacked against them if not because the team falls apart it's the games mechanics itself or it's the killer playing in a way that sucks. Tunneling is something I feel can be penalised, because back to back games of it for a survivor isn't fun, you paid to play the game not sit in lobbies all session. The killers could get point reduction for going after the same survivor they just hooked, or (& I don't want this) the game can buff survivors that get taken off the hook. Not just endurance, basekit tools to prevent being immediately tunneled out. Basekit boil over or decisive. Sounds awful doesn't it!

These issues are prominent in dbd at the moment, on killer side it just feels like the issue could be some perks being a bit too strong or the killer being weak, the game if being played normally though, we'll say totally casual & no tunnel can still go either way. Survivors gen rush or they fall apart. At that point the game really is just balanced, 1 side or the other no guarantees either side. I'm not just complaining the killers suck & should stop tunneling & get better without needing to but that's how it comes across. The main genuine issue is how much the player base is deflating & dwindling due to unpunished "playstyles" that make the game stupidly unfun & mechanics in situations that stack the deck in favour of the already advantaged side. It all counts.

I really have gone on for a while, thanks for reading if you did get this far. Thanks BHVR if you see this & read this & take any note or consideration. But genuinely I enjoy this game & at times it can be infuriating. I'm not the best, I have my moments, but besides the point I want the game to be fun, inherently not just finding the fun myself where otherwise it doesn't exist, that's not the game I paid for. I want this game to continue & I don't want the community to go away it's steadily just getting worse though.

I wish you luck in the fog everyone, good luck with the killing & good luck surviving. Have a lovely day or evening & again thanks for letting me rant & thanks for reading if you did.
