massive rework consept remove the terror radius

ok the idea is basically either remove or massively shrink the terror radius on every killer now hear me out here

1.1: summary. dbd is a game where you should be paying attention to your surroundings in its nature but more oftern than not if it isn't a stealth killer im just sat on a gen waiting for the visual heart beat to pop up without really thinking about anything it doesn't really feel like a horror game just feels like a task simulator so i feel like this game would be alot more fun if you were actually having to look out for the killer physically and the sound design on each killer would actually come into play with their footsteps and breathing and other than making you have to pay attention more i cant see it having a major effect on gameplay (except indoor maps but ill get to that)

1.2.: gens. when your completing a gen against a ghost face or myers you dont actually see alot of grabs or even people being super out of position simply because even with it being a pretty dark killer you can easily spot them if your paying attention your not running way before they are even actually near but a counter point to that is that survivors shouldn't even be doing that unless they know the killer is coming for them specifically which is normally found out through means other than terror radius for example auras team coms or seeing the killer left chase to which you should be cautiously watching your surroundings

and to back up how in the topic of gens it would be good is that having a fear of the unknown while completing a gen would for the vast majority of suvivors make doing the gen more engaging because there is some form of tension which otherwise cant exist because you just know they arnt near you for sure

1.3:chase. when your in chase terror radius doesnt really matter for you but it for free tells other suvivors where you are if they intend on helping and that doesnt really have a point if there are perks that do that as well that are borderline universal (belong to universal characters) and do the job better (in most cases) this isnt really a reason for it to go more of a rebutal to why terror radius is important cause it does the job badly and is pointless as many other things do it better if you are going into a match intenting on helping peoples chases enyway

1.4:perks. every perk that charges in terror radius should be switched to charging in chase and spine chill should be changed to work through walls again

the killer side

2.1: stealth. for killer the idea of sneaking up on someone just currently doesnt exist for most of the cast despite basically anything powerful like insta downs having a large sound queue with a long charge up time with loud breathing and footsteps and its kinda like shouldnt killers be allowed to punish a suvivor with a free hit if they just wernt paying attention they basicaly have a big sign in the middle of their screen saying run now the killers coming so it just isnt an option and it really limits your game play to be alot more linear its fine suvivor get into chase when there could be the extra optional step that you get with ghost face for example where you have i can sneak up on them with the risk of wasting time for the reward of getting the first hit free

2.2 lullabys. tbh just put one on nurse huntress onryo and i think the rest of the cast would be fine

2.3 in kit undetectable. in eny case where its a key part of their kit for example wraith ghost face myers onryo just remove it as its unnessasary leave it in for killers where they have to work for it like dredge tho cause the idea im gonna reference would actualy mean something for them. honestly its kinda case by case

2.4:perks. all terror radius perks should just be changed to a set distance and all effect perks should be kept the same

effect reworks

3.1: undetectable. in this situation undetectable would be effectivly useless so my preposed idea would be to have the effect massivly dampen you killer sounds like footsteps breathing and killer power sounds (with the exeption of nurse cause she is the sole reason we cant have so many good things) and also have it silence lullabys (obviously dont but base kit undetectable on eny killer that has a lullaby) also keep the aura hiding part

3.2: oblivous. just replace it with deafen deafen is underused and you could even tune it down a bit but oblivious is useless as is as its just worse undetectable

map reworks

4.1: indoor maps. just move the gens to places with no nearby doors in more open areas like in the middle of coridoors outdoors like in some places in rpd and similar there is no reason to have places you cant see 3 meters away from a gen then while indoor maps would still be poorly designed from a gameplay perspective but they wont be as bad for this just have everything blocking sight lines from gens moved so you can see clearly for longer it would help suvivors find killers and help killers checck gens from further away

i may have forgotten something as this is really long. feel free to ask questions ill try to answer enything and at the very least trying this in a ptb would be nice just to try and add back a bit of the horror to make suvivor more interesting kinda similar to lights out but alot more normalised to the game to where it still has the dbd vibe just without the super calm feeling you have for most of the time your playing suvivor cause your just chilling listening to music cause the heart beat hasnt gone of so you dont need to pay attention

    Use trail of torment, Unforeseen, Hex:plaything, Tinkerer, Machine learning or other stealth perk equivalents. you can make every killer stealth. Beware for killer with lullaby.

    i feel like thats missing the point running into a killer running stealth perks once in a blue moon doesnt change how i play suvivor every other match and barely changes how i play suvivor that match

    It is not killer fault that the perks are barely serviceable. Maybe buff these perk up by a lot instead of constant safe changes.

    but its not about the frequency its the fact that the terror radius does nothing other than break immersion given that you wont even be leaving a gen enyway if you hear it only when you see the killer enyway it just makes you start looking around and no terror radius means that you would just be looking around enyway all the time which is more exiting than just wait for the audio queue and the rest of the time just space out hitting skill checks before moving on to the next gen

    removing the terror radius would make doing gens a high preasure task instead of something you just slug through cause you have to
