Bardic Inspiration not working (PC)

While playing on PC I have noticed when using the survivor perk Bardic Inspiration, my skill checks on generators do not gain any of the additional progress stated by the perk. I make sure to let the song finish completely and let the effect countdown begin but no additional progress is ever gained, my friends I play SWF with have also noticed this issue claiming the icon on their screen to show they are effected by the perk doesn’t even show up. This occurs every game
