Decisive Strike Rework

Decisive Strike has been a problem since the Halloween DLC was released, and with the suggestion the developers gave as to how it could be changed, I figured it was time for me to give my opinion as to why the nerf idea isn’t good, as well as giving a suggestion as to how I think it should be handled.

The developers proposed that Decisive Strike would have no skill check and instead have an activate button, and that when used, the survivor would be permanently in the injured state. The problem I have with this is there is such an easy way to counter this. The user would just use Decisive Strike when they are about to be hooked for the 3rd time in which they die instantly. You could also use it when the gates are open which lets you save someone in front of the killer, use Decisive Strike, and run to the exit and escape.

What do I think should change?

Decisive Strike is a perk belonging to Laurie Strode, whose perks are centered around being an independent survivor. Her perk Sole Survivor relies on her teammates being dead, and Object of Obsession affects and benefits her and the killer ONLY. Because of this, I think it would make sense for Decisive Strike to only be usable when there is only ONE survivor left. This makes Decisive Strike more fitting to Laurie’s lore, and is more of a risk and reward perk than it was before  since you have the chance of not being able to use the perk at all (All obsession perks are supposed to be high risk high reward as stated by the developers).

These are my opinions and ideas, if you have any comments or have constructive criticism, feel free to leave a message below.

TL;DR

If Decisive Strike were to be used only by the last survivor alive, it would be more fair towards the killer, a higher risk in using the perk due to potentially not being able to use the perk at all, and more fitting to Laurie’s lore of being an independent survivor.

Instead of being freed immediately and the killer being stunned for 3s/3.5s/4s, the killer still keeps the survivor but is extreme slowed for the same time values. Meanwhile the grabbed survivor is free to wiggle on while the killer is halted. The killer can still turn and look around to avoid Flashlights and such.

Another alternative would be that a successful DS proc adds a fixed amount to the wiggle gauge, say about 10/15/20%

I really like the idea of DS only being usable by the final survivor. This really fits Laurie's lore and would require strategy and careful planning on the survivors part rather than what we have now. +1 good idea!

It should only be able to be used when you're the obsession. Gut the hell out of this perk already and fix the stupid maps. Every game my time is wasted by stupid loopers with this perk.
