If we want killers to stop tunneling, we should lift the restrictions on killer play.
I'm always scratching my head when I see the opinion "Killers just enjoy tunneling" in the discussions here. To be honest, I don't think tunneling is fun. Just as survivors want to escape as many as possible, killers also want to kill as many as possible, that's all.
Currently, killers are restricted in various ways. They can't catch hooks, the hook time has been extended, generators have a set number of kicks, and all the perks that make generators move back have been weakened. Sloppy has also been weakened, and even a little bit of time is not allowed.
Frankly, it's more fun to chase and hook various survivors than to relentlessly chase one survivor until he dies or leave him on the ground until he bleeds to death. For both the killer and the survivors. But doing so in the current environment means the killer is putting himself at a disadvantage. It's natural that all players want to win when playing a game. But the current situation where the actions required to win make both players feel uncomfortable is not healthy for the game.
If you want to provide a fun game for both killers and survivors, stop taking away the diversity of killer play. I'll say it again. Killers don't repeat tunnels because they like it. We don't play killers to relentlessly bully one survivor. We just want to have fun playing killers.

yes bring back the stall-the-game meta so that we can get tunneled and bored to death
killers who tunnel will always have a new excuse as to why that's the only way to play the game. No, you just played a game like that once, saw how easy it was to get self gratification and now you just refuse to play any other way. No amount of buffs to killer mechanics will change your mind.
hook timer was increased due to gen time being increased eons ago, guess what, killers were still tunneling with the extra gen time, with the buffs to PR and pop, etc —— people who play like this will continue to play like this until it's no longer the path of least resistance

Worst part is those tunneling and camping nerfs affects negatively both killers that want to tunnel/camp since the beginning and killers that need to tunnel or camp on a very specific moment because it is needed (for example 4 gens done and no survivor dead, im sorry but at that time you need to take someone out asap).

Fun fact, increased hook timer affects both tunneling/camping killers and the ones that dont even tunnel/camp equally. When i hook someone survivors just dont come to unhook even if i am already chasing another survivor. Why lose time coming to unhook if you can just smash the gens and come at the very last moment before the survivor reaches the hook 2nd phase? Survivors who knew how to play already did that before, but now? With the extra +10 seconds thats easier than ever.

Killers will always tunnel unless:
- Tunneling is heavily punished (my fav for toxic ppl)
- Hooking many survivors is the best strategy (my fav for those that want to win without having to tunnel)
And yes, many killers just like to tunnel not becaue they are "forced" but because they want, the same way hitting ppl on hook or humping them is a waste of time (and not rewarded at all) yet ppl do it. I've seen lots of games where gens take ages because survivors struggle and yet they still tunnel from the start.
And unfortunaterly fun is subjective and many ppl find their fun in preventing others from having it.1 -
You're not restricted. You can still play the game. It's like you said it's harder for you to win every game. If you're idea of fun is winning at 4K every game yes it will be harder. But if you want to play unrestricted you're going to lose a few games.
