Finding Parts Before Being Able To Start A Gen?
This mechanic was very prominent in The Casting Of Frank Stone, and I honestly think it's a good idea to start trying out in DBD. This would solve a lot of the issues that people have with the early game.
Think about it, the killer already spawns in with a disadvantage. They don't get to spawn right on top of their Objective (Survivors), however survivors can spawn all 4 differently on separate gens and instantly start working on them. The killer has to use map knowledge and spawn logic to find survivors, which can take anywhere from 10-60 seconds, and then initiate a chase, have a varying chase time, down the survivor, carry them too a hook, and then go across the map to regress/kick or push a survivor off a gen.
Just in the that long amount of time, survivors could easily complete 3 gens, if they are on separate ones. With it only being 90 seconds, the killer finding, downing, hooking and going cross map could take way longer.
Having to find like a gear/bolt first to put into the gen would give the survivors a reason to also start the match looking for an objective (bolts/gears) rather than just working on a gen right away.
Obviously this would only be a slight delay, but it could be interesting to test out in a PTB or something.
