Licensed Chapter Suggestion: Big Trouble in Little China
Hey, the forums are on fire and people are mad about everything! Let's talk about an idea for another licensed chapter, since DBD is on a roll with them.
BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA
The 1986 action-comedy film featuring Kurt Russell, James Hong, Dennis Dun, Victor Wong, and Kim Cattrall among many others centers around an ancient Chinese sorcerer cursed by the Emperor Qin Shi Huang to exist in an eternal fleshless state until he can marry a woman with green eyes. In the modern-day, Lo-Pan prowls Chinatown for a bride with dragon green eyes to finally break the curse, and in doing so runs afoul of Chinatown's residents such as Wang Chi and wise Egg Shen and truck driver Jack Burton of the Porkchop Express. It's up to them to save both Gracie Law and Miao Yin from Lo-Pan's clutches and prevent the return of an evil sorcerer who will rule the universe from beyond the grave.
New Killer: Lo-Pan, the Fleshless
Lo-Pan is a centuries-old master of dark sorcery and a brilliant tactician, in addition to being cursed by powerful ancient forces. Leveraging both his two-thousand-year-long lifespan and foul fleshless state, his diabolical plans are unleashed upon the Trial Grounds in an effort to garner more power for himself.
Killer Ability: The Darkest Magic
"Magic. The darkest magic. My soul swims in it." - Lo-Pan
Passive: While a survivor in close range looks at you while you are facing them, the eerie unnatural light emanating from your mouth and eyes steadily causes them to go blind. Survivors who look too long into your countenance go blind for a short duration.
Primary: Hold down the power button to summon a circle of magic on the ground that travels forward from your position a moderate distance. Release the power button to call down a bolt of jade lightning from the heavens, injuring any survivors who are in the radius.
Secondary: Press the secondary power button to become Intangible for a few seconds. While intangible, you are immune to any effects of the physical world, but also cannot interact with it. This includes pallet stuns, flashlights, flashbangs, environmental effects, and other perks. You are unable to attack, perform any action, or use your primary power while intangible, and cannot end the status effect early. Using this ability while carrying a survivor will cause you to drop them.
Perks:
Nothing You Can Understand: Malicious and eternal, you are beyond the comprehension of most mortals. After you injure a survivor, this perk activates for a moderate duration. Survivors within your Terror Radius suffer from the Blindness status effect. This effect lingers for a short time after leaving your terror radius.
"Shut up, Mr. Burton! You are not brought upon this world to GET IT!" - David Lo-Pan
Tyranny: Your quest for utter domination will not be denied. After you damage a generator, this perk activates for a moderate duration. Survivors within a short range of the generator suffer from the Exhausted status effect. This effect lingers for a short time after leaving the radius.
"Ching Dai will be appeased, my curse will be lifted!" - David Lo-Pan
Wing Kong Exchange: You are able to collect esoteric relics and ancient artifacts from every realm. When you injure a survivor carrying an item, that item's rarity is reduced to the next lower level. In addition, that item's addons are disabled for a brief period afterwards.
"These guys are animals, Jack!" - Wang Chi, on the Wing Kong gang
New Survivor: Jack Burton
Hapless would-be hero Jack Burton wanted nothing to do with ancient magic and eight-feet-tall maniacs. When he ran into the Wing Kong's elite enforcers, the Storms, his truck was stolen and he was immediately brought into a conflict between good and evil that had started thousands of years before he was even born.
Perks:
All in the Reflexes: Whenever you complete a Great Skill Check, this perk activates. Your next pallet drop will be faster and stun the killer for longer.
"It's a good knife. Goodbye, Mr. Burton." - Lo-Pan's last words
Paid Your Dues: After you complete a certain amount of generator repair progress or healing on another survivor, this perk activates. The next time you would be afflicted by a status effect, it is instead negated. If a status effect would be continuous (such as a Hex totem) it is instead suppressed for a moderate duration.
"Yes sir, the check is in the mail." - Jack Burton
Psyche Up: Target another survivor and press the Active Ability button to psyche them up with a heroic speech. The survivor gains a bonus to their action speed, vault speed, and pallet drop speed for a short duration. This perk then goes on a moderate cooldown.
"Feel pretty good. I'm not, uh, I'm not scared at all. I just feel kind of...feel kind of invincible." - Jack Burton
