Are 180 Swings at the end of a lunge intended on Killer?
I'm just curious if it's just a side effect of how the game was made or if it was by design. It's been a few years but I've returned to the game in 2024. The movement feels different and I've watched some videos to see how it's been altered.
When I play Killer. If a Survivor jukes me to the side. At the end of my lunge it's easy to just swipe my mouse left or right to get an easy hit. I don't feel punished for committing to a direction because I know I can just easily 180 and it's 9.99/10 a hit. I don't know it just kinda feels wrong on some level, does anyone know what I mean? Like it feels cheeky haha.
Even when playing Survivor I feel like you can tell the difference between a PC or Console player (mind you some use controller on PC). I'll fake a window they sing but I juke to the side and away from them but in those final frames they can just 180 and automatically hit me with the final frames of the lunge.
Of course if it's a design of the game then it's to be used, but even as Killer I just feel like swings are not punished. If I commit to the window then I commit to the window and if the Survivor jukes me then why should they still be punished? I don't understand because even in games like Mordhau. If you swing your camera to fast the hit wont register. There are ranges for attacks. I don't see why a Killers attack hitreg can't be limited to 180 left to right. If they to a 180 front to back it shouldn't register a hit. I don't know maybe it's an unpopular opinion. It just looks weird. Mind you watching a 360 looks weird too lmao.
I don't see the issue with making committed swings punishing. I know people have the 360s but low-mid mmr at least in all my matches on both sides… I rarely come across 360s. People just loop and try to juke by faking windows and pallets.
Like I said, maybe it's an unpopular opinion but it just feels cheap. I don't blame Killers for playing the game as design, but doesn't anyone else kind of feel where I am coming from? How do you deal with it or play around it? If it's a part of the game I'd like to learn how to avoid being 180'd all the time.

Nope I don't understand you at all, I rather don't see why I should be punished even tho I can still hit it, it's in the duration and range of my attack so of course I should be able to hit it. Of course it looks funny because it's in the last frames, but it really wouldn't make sense if it didn't hit because the hitbox is still there and therefore the hit didn't end yet.
You also can't and shouldn't be able to dodge it, you're in range and you didn't get away fast enough, so I get the hit.

I get what you mean. I've just come from games that perhaps are a bit more niche sometimes. So I get what you mean but at the same time it's silly to me because all I hear is that you want to be able to secure a hit with or without skill. That's what rubs me the wrong way. I'd rather be punished for being impatient and falling for a Survivor faking a vault. Just adds skill to the game. Insuring you time your hits right. Even 360s have changed and are not as powerful as they used to be. I like the change. Makes it more fair for Killers but it's still a skill that can be mastered.
To each their own though. Also didn't mean to hit the YES to answered question. First time using this section for questions lol. T'is but an accident.
