The Cannibal aka Leatherface survivor masks should come back

So for some that may not be aware or newer to the game, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw known as The Cannibal or Bubba in this game had a rather interesting and unique feature which were facemasks based on the faces of 4 in-game survivors that could be unlocked by killing each said survivor 25 times, something you'd really have to grind for. Following the fact that Leatherface wears masks made out of human skin.

Masks being based on Meg, Claudette, Dwight and Jake, and more masks based on other original survivors were planned. As some of you reading might can already probably see the issues that may have come with this particularly the masks made of Claudette and Jake's skin and that's of course the modern day racial issues, there were apparently reports going around of "racist" Cannibal players wearing the Claudette mask and directly targeting and tunneling players playing as Claudette or other dark skinned characters, being trolls, claims of "blackface" etc. All this of course lead to a statement from the devs.

Now ok removed something that players put a lot of time into the game for and gave them some shards for compensation, guess I won't condemn on that one but I will condemn the fact of removing a rather interesting cosmetic for a killer who doesn't really have many to begin with, something many players based on what I have seen and read opposed and found removing them ridiculous as well, like players grinded for these masks and letting a handful of players ruin it, worst case scenario just remove the Claudette mask then, why remove the others? I would like to add that removing the masks wouldn't resolve the issue either and there is no way of verifying all those possible reports were true, killers still tunnel and target certain players today for various reasons. I seen killers and survivors alike target and harass players for playing specific characters, wearing one of the various LGBT+ flag charms, a survivor trolling the killer and pissing the killer off making them want to target that person specifically, or a said player just being dumb in-game. The LGBT charms and certain character cosmetics or bios have generated those types of controversies so gonna remove them? Point I am making is that this sort of harassment and trolling will not go away based on removing a cosmetic and DBD unfortunately just has a bad toxic community, the chat filter isn't the best as people bypass it or use unfiltered insults, and don't forget the teabagging and bully squads. IMO some of those reports that lead to this were probably just salty players mad about being tunneled or dying first and tried to make an excuse to make it seem deeper than it really was to try getting the killer player in trouble. Which players will do as I myself have been accused of crap before by salty survivors when playing killer from like hacking, to being homophobic for like killing a David King player first, etc. Not saying this kind of thing is ok if it's legit but a lot of this kind of rhetoric and accusations are IMO honestly often times BS and shouldn't be taken so serious, sure we don't need to ignore hateful speech and such when it's a thing but again removing the masks wouldn't resolve the problem mentioned.

So overall these masks based on community feedback should make a return as many killer players likely put a lot of work in to unlock them just to have them removed, and stop empowering trolls as that's really all removing these masks done in the end and gave those types of players a good laugh. I suppose it's understandable on maybe licensing reasons why they got removed so that is something to consider. Additionally more killers should get cosmetics that can be unlocked by doing certain tasks in the game from like "getting a certain amount of hooks" "get (insert number) mori kills" "break this many pallets and walls in a single match" or "kill this many survivors by letting the timer run out" a lot of possibilities there as currently all cosmetics are currency based for the most part aside from the few unlocked by challenges in the tomes.

To clarify my point and avoid misunderstandings, no I do not defend racism, sexism, homophobia, or any form of hate or prejudice against people and think that kind of behavior always needs to be punished whenever it happens in the game, just saying shouldn't let those handful types of players ruin certain features of the game for the majority of players and that removing these masks for these reasons is basically what that was. Punishing all players for the actions of a handful basically instead of just banning those few who will still cause trouble in other ways.
