Doctor's Weapon change after Update. Bring the old back please!
So it's nothing crazy, but I kind of dislike that change.
So I bought The Doctor's weapon "Copper Cable Tube" a couple of months ago, I bought it because I loved it's bright orange color that stood out. I just logged back in after the update and noticed they changed it to a dark blue.. and I'll be honest.. I hate it, I was debating between 2 weapons before buying it and now I regret getting this one.
I loved my lil bright orange tube. Please bring it back. 😥

Open a support ticket. Tell them you want the cosmetic you purchased or you want a refund.

It's hard to imagine a good reason to change a cosmetic's color so drastically. BHVR has, in the past, changed dark cosmetics to be a bit brighter for balance reasons, but that's nothing like this. One time, they changed a head cosmetic I had purchased (she went from having no makeup to having a crapton of makeup) and I opened a ticket and returned the cosmetic for a refund; the cosmetic was new and I had owned it for days at most, not months, so your situation is different, but I would still make the attempt. Cosmetics are purchased solely for their appearance; if the appearance is changed, then it's not what you purchased. If BHVR allows itself to change the appearance of a cosmetic so drastically for no discernible reason, then it is not a trustworthy company to purchase cosmetics from. Emphasize that if you open a support ticket: phrases like "untrustworthy" and "refrain from making future purchases" get attention. No one would be willing to buy cosmetics if they were told they could look completely different tomorrow.
Maybe it's a bug and BHVR will fix it. Maybe it's an intentional change and you can make a legitimate complaint and possibly get a refund. Either way, it needs attention brought to it.

This could be a bug, as there is a new rift outfit for the doctor with a weapon that looks exactly like the one in your second picture.

Aw hell nah they went and oxidised the copper tube.

Sadly I doubt that it is a bug. Even in the menu/store it'a now blue. And instead of being fully orange it's now flowing with electricity.
I did submit a bug report and asked for a refund though, as you said that is not what I paid for.
EDIT: Nvm it might be a bug, I just saw WolfDragon's comment and there is indeed a duplicate of it. (The Copper Tube)

I would think/hope it's a bug, especially with the Rift outfit and all. But like I said, it's good to open a ticket. Personally, when I reported a cosmetic bug on the forums alone, it was many months before it got fixed, long after I had given up and removed it from my hooks (the charm didn't load in at all, it was a dangling little chain with no charm on the end). Granted, it was only a charm and not a full blown cosmetic, but it was from the paid Rift and I used it on most of my hooks so I was really bummed that it was completely broken.
You can also open up a bug report on the forums to make sure you're using all possible avenues for getting this addressed. You never know what will reach the necessary eyes quickest.
