Is there again/still a problem with hitboxes?

The last time I played DBD was at the Masquerade Event so I m not familiar with what happened in between. I can remember that I had always issues with the hitboxes and how the game decides what I hit and what not, but since I ve started playing again I had several cases where I scratched my head about the outcome of a hit. I can't remember ever having the problem of not hitting a Survivor in front of me twice in a row. It seems that the sink in the Midwitch restroom has a bigger hitbox than the Survivor or is favored by the "aim assist". It even turned my view on this fiendish sink so I had to move back and try to hit again only to be pulled back again on this damned sink. In the end I had to move backwards to get enough space between me, the slow walking surivior and the sink to finally hit the target I wanted to hit in the first place.

Is the hit detection getting worse or am I just not used to it any more? After my last match I just wanted to be sure about it, thats why I m asking.
