Overall Balance Fix Suggestions that should be applied
Hey there, DBD has been in an unenjoyable state for many years. And there has been no reason why killers are so weak. Survivors received buff after buff and killer never got compensation for it, yeah maybe ONE time but it has been long overshadowed by the broken survivor role. Keep in mind i don't favor either side, i have high MMR in both roles (Yes, solo is really easy) and the game is still (if not worse) in a bad state. People will often say "Solo is hard" but maybe it is just you and your team, i am playing solo survivor since 2019, since then, MMR changed, i am satisfied, actually... no. Survivor is easy mode. Then we get to SWF, with a 4man the game becomes a complete laughing stock. Proving that most killers are not able to catch up remotely close. Many things should not be possible.
Let's first adress the bullying problem, the game currently supports. The killer experience has never been anything but a stresstest, there is enough toxicity to hate every human existence possible. There is no reason to not just camp/slug/tunnel. (I tried not to) often you are in a situation where you HAVE to do this to even have a CHANCE to get a kill (Thanks MMR), this doesn't change the fact when you play nice as killer you not even get then rewarded, instead survivors will apply same toxicity. Not mentioning endgame chat threatenings. Exit Gates are survivor Sided and promote bullying, 99ing gates and choosing to remain EVERY SINGLE TIME with no exception to endure the endgame timer to waste the killers time. And if you decide to go to the gate, ungrateful behavior will follow following teabagging and flashlight clicking, survivors like this are the sole reason killers play like this. Never different.
Okay i talked about killer. Now i come to "you" survivors.
Slugging can be annoying for some people, yet killers sometimes have to do this, however i present to you changes that might help the game.
I do not support the idea of waking up automatically from the dying state however i know how annoying it can be, so a give up option would be great if all 4 survivors are down. To bleed out automatically. So the players can move on, further slugging fixes would come to mind if killer becomes better to play. Camping, yeah we received a hook grab refusal and a proxy camping fix, and it is too powerful.
Specially endgame with bodyblocking (Should not be a thing) and tunneling, well, this has to be the most annoying thing, let's say killers would be stronger to play, MAYBE to prevent tunneling the recently hooked survivor becomes invisible til the next survivor becomes hooked HOWEVER if the team just starts to hide, what is the killer supposed to do? Add aura reading after survivors hide a specific time?
This would be good for the hiding problem too, idle mechanic is useless.
Now for the needed buffs.
Most killers are victim to the SLOW MOVEMENT speed, FAST GENERATORS. Or just the 1000 pallets that are found in maps. Did i remind that the maps are too large? Recently i've noticed "Wait, ALL maps are survivor sided. Always has been" I can just stop there, these things alone TOGETHER say that the killer role is in desperate need of buffs.
This is not just me that realized this, right?
We went from 4v1 to 1v4, we basically went from "we hunt the survivors" to "we hate the killer, we must bully him!!!!!!"
and there is sadly no inbetween, it's just like school. (lol)
I was in rage back then, today i know when i should switch roles. (Survivor is extremely chill) With an agressive and nervous/stress enducing self-test vs. an chill, relaxing experience, the choice is easy. This game can get to your mental health, and i am not lying. Already going into a match with the mind "i hear ring" this is what happens EVEN with slowdown on severe cases. Of course, depends on killer, player, MMR range. Everything.
If killer would not be frustrating to play this, more players would play killer! More and more people get bored with the killer role and it is understandable. Soon there will if we are not lucky enough killer bots.
Just a simple thing LIKE higher movement speed could be the solution to all, even tho gens are still problematic, an additional side objectives like fuel for the gen would be a game changer and good for both sides.
So, now MMR.
It realistically should give you survivors on the same skill level depending on your killer.
Problem is it doesn't.
Example: You are a god nurse and you decide i play pig or clown.
Bad idea, you get thrown into the firepit. Why do these killers not have a mmr limit suitable for them?
Killers like these should not be able to get these "strong" teams. Doesn't make sense either if you have enough kills the game things you are really good (can depend) (mmr logic, not hooks?) there is the possibility to encounter cheaters. For me, every single game. I wish i was just joking. Anyway back to MMR. It should not be like this.
So why do i even get kills?
Can i not just go for 8hooking and making (some?) survivors, myself feel better for breaking the game law and not give a #### anymore, because balance is far off. While lowering my mmr, which gives me better and less stressful games.
It's a cycle.
I just wished they buff overdue killers in general and stop promoting exit gate bullying or just in total.
Trust me, i love playing survivor but this needed to be said. Killers have feelings, too!
