Please buff Hangman's Trick

The Perk went from bad, to bad, to broken in PTB but bad live, to even worse as of right now, the Perk cannot catch a break, the idea behind it is decent, but right now it's just never worth running due to several reasons, like better alternatives such as BBQ.

I have an idea that would make the Perk usable tho!

Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick

  • While carrying a Survivor, see the Aura of any Survivor within 12/14/16 metres of any Scourge Hook.
  • Scourge Hooks cannot be broken or sabotaged by any means.

Simple changes, Scourge Hooks are now sabo proof and when a Survivor dies on said hook, they won't get destroyed, so you can use them again right away! Also I have increased the Aura reading range to 16 metres from 12 metres, which should make the Aura reveals a bit more common!

But, if the idea of those hooks being basically untouchable seems a bit too strong I have another idea that could replace the effect:

  • When a Survivor performs a sabotage action on a hook, they suffer from the Exposed Status Effect for 40/50/60 seconds.

What do you think?

I think whole Scourge Hooks mechanic needs adjustment, where every this type of perk spawn +1 extra Scourge Hook. I literally ignore them because of how inconsistent they are, and I want actually use them, that's why I take perks in first place. With this change to Mechanic you don't even need to buff Hangman's with numbers, but additional effects are pretty nice.

I think your ideas are fine, but I don’t want it to be a scorch hook perk. It was a decent tracking perk before it became one.

    Old Hangman’s trick
Your ingenious modifications to Hooks alert you of tampering. Gain a Loud Noise Notification when a Survivor begins sabotaging a Hook. Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading abilities. While carrying a Survivor, see the aura of any Survivor within 2/4/6metres of any Hook.

I was surprised when they changed it to being a Scourge Hook subtype of perk. It was already a lackluster perk no one used, then they restricted it to 4 hooks on the map. Like Langweilg above, I'd rather see it return to the olden days when it was just a regular perk, not a SH.

Un-sabatoge-able Scourge Hooks, I think, should be an addition to Monstrous Shrine's existing state, and Hangman's Trick should do either one huge thing and one small thing well, or 2-3 minor QOL things decently.

As far as design goes, there's no shame in reverting something back to the way it used to be if the current iteration hasn't performed as hoped.

Yeah I agree, probably the best way to buff the Perk would just be to revert it to it's previous state, maybe with a bit increased range, like 8 to 10 metres instead of the old 6 metres.
