Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Aura colors and accessibility

TLDR at the bottom.

Every trial has the same basic mechanics. Pallets, vaults, generators, hooks, terror radius, etc. And in the almost 9 years DBD has been released, very few of these have options to make it more player accessible.

A toggle to hold or only touch gens, heals, totems, etc. Was great! And when the option first released, I hoped that we would quickly get an option to toggle sprint on survivors as well, for those with hand/muscle issues!

This was 3 years ago, and hasn't happened.

Earlier that same year, 2021, in January. BHVR announced the new colorblind toggles.

As far as I'm aware, as from people that I have personally asked who have color-blindness:
These. Do Not. Help. Almost every single one has to use Reshade, a 3rd party program that console players cannot download and use on DBD to recolor their game.

These settings have not been changed, talked about in any live-stream, or acknowledged since. And it is INCREDIBLY disappointing.

Every. Single. Trial. Has scratch marks and aura's, whether that be for Survivors, hooks, gens, lockers, etc.

This game, decided day 1, to make most of those colors, red.

Globally, the percentage of people who are color-blind are 4.5%, or over 350 million people.

And the most common form of colorblindness is:
Green…… and Red.

This is current Toba Landing and Eyrie of Crows for some players, and remember, Reshade is not a perfect 1:1 ratio for anybody with color-blindness. Could be worse, or better for them personally!

I do not expect the dev team to change the lighting of every single map to be perfect for every single form of colorblindness, I'd love if they tried! But I understand that's a huge under-taking

I want the ability for players to change all Aura colors in a match to a separate one. Whether that be a pre-made list of basic colors (Such as Blue, Green, Yellow, etc). Or a full hexadecimal color picker. Then do the same for the, arguably more important, scratch marks.

The main problem would be listing the difference of perk effects. Main ones being generator perks.

I think this can be divided into 3 area's:

Red: Information

White: Blocked

Yellow: Active Perk

Blue: Boon

These would have to be separate aura's in the options menu, and I think adding a button for "example" with a video would go great! (Considering this is already being done in the store for mori's, I see no reason why it can't be applied to tutorials) Or you could list in the perk descriptions what kind of aura is shown for easier management! Would also let you easily look up perks in the search bar based off the aura reading.

So on survivor, typing in "Information Gen" would bring up perks like Deja Vu and Visionary. Typing in "Information Survivor" would bring up blood pact and invocation weaving spiders.

Personally, I would make all my red aura's turn blue! Only reasons being wanting something fresh, and making coldwind less of an eye-strain for me <3

TLDR: Let players change aura/scratch-mark colors for personal preference as well as accessibility reasons. This provides nothing but personal preference.

Thank you for your time

I think they do want to do this, and they even mentioned it in the AMA if I remember right.

I would also throw in colors of rarities while we're at it.
