Remove the activation condition from Rookie Spirit...
And give it another bonus effect on top of the current one. We all know that the requirement of 3 Skill Checks is only there for the purpose of Perk tiers. I have several buff suggesstions this Perk could have!
Rookie Spirit
You keep a careful eye on objectives when they're slipping away.
- You can see the Auras of regressing Generators.
- When you stop a Generator from regressing, reveal the Killer's Aura for 4/5/6 seconds.
This simple buff just rewards you for stopping regression by revealing the Killer's Aura! Would probably need a small cooldown so it isn't overpowered when played against Hex: Ruin!
Rookie Spirit
You keep a careful eye on objectives when they're slipping away.
- You can see the Auras of regressing Generators.
- When you stop repairing a Generator, there is a chance (50%) it starts automatically regressing at 100/75/50% of the default regression speed.
A luck based counter to gen kicking Perks! When you stop your repairs, the gen will regress at half the speed, loosing basically no progression at all and at the same time blocking the Killer from applying their gen kicking perks! This would also only work if you're the last Survivor that stops working on the generator.
EDIT: I got another idea!
Rookie Spirit
You keep a careful eye on objectives when they're slipping away.
- You can see the Auras of regressing Generators.
- When you stop a Generator from regressing, another random Generator stops regressing aswell and its Aura is revealed to you for the next 8/9/10 seconds.
A simple idea where your actions could matter around the whole map, if there are more regressing gens, you can stop them from regressing too! The Gen that stops regressing this way is revealed to you for a while so you know what have you done! It could also backfire by giving the Killer access to that Generator again tho!
EDIT #2: Another idea that was mentioned in the comments below!
Rookie Spirit
You keep a careful eye on objectives when they're slipping away.
- You can see the Auras of regressing Generators.
- Gain a 50/75/100% repair speed boost as long as the Generator you're working on is regressing.
A pretty good buff to get rid of that regression as fast as you can! Would probably need a small cooldown so it isn't overpowered when played against Hex: Ruin!
There are probably way more buffs you could give to Rookie Spirit without removing the initial idea of the Perk, I thought these were the best / funniest ones, what do you think?!

Good idea, but how would this work with ruin? Survivors might choose not to cleanse it so their swf could have infinite aura reading like in the OoO days. (Since 6s aura is longer than the 5s to stop regression, it would last forever.)

I like the first idea, but the killer aura reveal would have to have a cooldown or some other thing to prevent it from being exploitable with Hex: Ruin as @caipt pointed out. But otherwise that's a solid buff, I like that a lot.

Hmm, yea, maybe we could add a 20 second cooldown, so the new version would be something like:
Rookie Spirit
You keep a careful eye on objectives when they're slipping away.
- You can see the Auras of regressing Generators.
- When you stop a Generator from regressing, reveal the Killer's Aura for 4/5/6 seconds, this can only happen once every 20 seconds.

I like your first idea a lot! These are both super smart.

I love the second idea, indirect ways to fight back are always crafty

If we were to add a new effect to Rookie Spirit, i would add this:
When repairing a regressing generator, your repair speed is increased by 100%. This deactivates once the generator reaches the threshold to stop regressing.

Also a good idea, had a similiar idea once but wasn't sure how to word it haha
