@devs Can you take a moment to read this post on how to balance the Trapper?
Honestly is incomprensible the Trapper is the main face of this game and also one of the weakest killers in Dead By Daylight.
The trapper has some problems:
1- waste a lot of time at the start of a game, needs seta traps and go pick them up, usually at least 1 or 2 gens repaired because is very dependent to the her power on a chase.
2- So far the traps has been too visible and make noise when a one installed near a survivor, I think needs more addons or base kit upgrades so his power is less vulnerable to sabotage.
3- has a standard terror radius and also doesn't have stealth addons so doesn't usually surprise survivors and becomes dependent to other killers perks and is also very vulnerable to SWF.
4- The trapper needs some "snowball effect" to slow down survivors, add secondary effects to the traps so that they lose time healing and accompanied with others status effects like undetectable would make survivors need to heal since the trapper would become a little more unpredictable.
For this reason I propose some changes to improve it because the metagame continually evolving and killers need changes to be adjusted.
Some proposals:
POWER BASE:
Starting with 3 traps. (base kit)
Slightly obscured traps. (base kit)
Removed sounds when setting bear traps. (base kit)
Survivors who escape a tramps suffer Deep Wound (base kit)
Tar Bottle: hugely obscures bear traps. (buff)
Elongated Jaws: Survivors suffer Laceration status for 60 seconds after breaking free from a Bear Trap. (change)
Serrated Jaws: Survivors suffer the Broken status for 60 seconds after breaking free from a Bear Trap. (change)
Bear Oil: Survivors caught in Bear Traps suffer the 5% Impair status for 6 seconds. (change)
Oily Coil: Grants the Undetectable status after setting a Bear Trap for 20 seconds. (change)
I'm not going to ignore the aspect more abusable has and that surely some survivors had seen, I talking about the "Bloody Coil" addon which many killers use to take a survivor to the basement and later camping with a trap at each door of the shack and in the window, if a wound survivor disarms the trap, the killer immediately returns and reinstalls the traps making it almost impossible to help, so I propose a counterplay to got a chance.
Bloody Coil: When an uninjured Survivor disarms a Bear Trap, the Bloody Coil takes its toll, putting the Survivor into an Injured State.
(If the Survivor remains injured when disarming a Bear Trap the Killer will not receive notifications on disarmed traps.) (Nerf)
Maybe a PTB with some this changes wouldn't be a bad idea...I playing Dead By Daylight since 2016 and we all agree the Trapper needs more love.
