Feedback: 2v8 - beautiful from the outside, ugly from the inside
The Goods:
The new additions to the 2v8 mode are really good. I like the idea of giving killers different classes with different effects. This makes playing killer much more fun, especially the Undetectable and longer lunge boni are so funny and cool. I really hope you will keep this direction and improve it. The classes on the survivor-side are also still really good. The best part about them, is that you can just play survivor: You don't have to buy survivors or perks, you don't have to grind for different perks, you don't have to learn all the different perks on both sides, you don't have to learn everything about all 38 killers, you don't have to grind for items and addons (Please, keep it because this was already a good thing the first time). Next, It is really good that the 2v8 mode has more simpler killers and only a handful of them because this makes it also easier to enjoy the mode as a survivor. In general, it is really good that everything is simple and there are no big surprises or anything like this, which would make the gamemode more difficult to enjoy for casual and chill players. It is also nice to see that this gamemode has still it's casual touch.
The new machanic that gens goes slower when more gens are repaired than survivors have been hooked (and vice versa) is a good idea to make the matches more intresting and keep the thrill. However, the mechanic has a few issues: The biggest one is the killers feel punished for doing good in a mode where survivors have the much better basekits/classes. In addition, killers could tunnel one or two survivors out of the game and had a much better match by outplaying the mechanic this way. On the other hand, it feels stupid to get punished as a survivor for doing good and sitting longer on generators is so boring. Therefore, I like the idea but it needs bigger improvements because sometimes it feels bad and can be abused easily. The slugging solution is great too and nothing to complain about it.
The Killers:
Deathslinger: Compared to other killers, Deathslinger feels really underwhelming in this gamemode - He is even worse than Trapper. He has no map mobility and the shots are really difficult to hit. He needs much more buffs for the next time like making him a 4.6killer when he has to reload, he automaticlly reloads when hooking a survivor, and other QoL changes.
Spirit/Sounds: DbD is one of the worst games when it comes to sounds - and it makes me so sad that you, the developers, do nothing to change it even though we request this for yeara and there are many ea games that have better sound design and more option than an eight years old game. This is such a shame. The screams of the survivors are so loud and annyoing to hear while every sound information feels so overwhelming. Spirit is my second main and it feels so overwhelming to play her in this game mode due to all the sounds happening around around you (gens popping, aura revealing, hooking, screaming survivor, killer partner ect.). Then some survivors can have Iron Will or Lucky Break which makes tracking survivors even more difficult. I can deal with this for a few matches but it is really unpleasent and, more importantly, for a beginner/non-Spirit main it must be just terrible. Otherwise, her buffs are fine. It is just the general miserable sound problem dbd has. Spirit is also difficult for the survivors because hearing the screaming, Huntress' lullaby/Billy's chainsaw, aura reveal sound ect. makes it difficult to hear her phasing right.
Huntress: The nerfs are fine and she is much more managable than before. The basekit aura reading makes her really strong but the lack of mobility and many loops as well as line of sight blockers make her a fair killer in this mode.
Trapper: The buffs are more than welcome and he feels better to play. However, he is still one of the weakest killers in this game and the reason why he feels playable in this mode is due to the fact that all 2v8 maps have good grass, it is more chaotic, and survivors have to right behind them when chased by the killerteammate (Huntress, Billy, Nurse) so they cannot look at the ground for traps. In the end, it is still Trapper and he needs a rework.
Hillbilly: Fine but rather thanks to the maps and the ability to repair pallets. Thus, I miss the ability to "expose" survivors when chainsawspring next to them because this was really funny with Wraith.
Nurse: Even though she is still a really strong killer and the aura reading makes her really strong, she is fair.
Wraith: He had this uncloak bug which felt really nice but even without it, he is a fine killer.
Blight: fine but should get some sightly nerfs.
The Bads:
However, the queue time is still awful long for killers and this is really sad. I can understand that killer is the most fun part in this mode because you can play it with a friend and the classes enable more funny stuff but for the regular killer-players it is just so bad. You wait between 10 - 20 minutes for a match that lasts for like 5 - 8 minutes and this does not feel rewarding. The survivor gameplay provides nothing new. Adding pallets and flashligh rescues was a good idea but in praxis it rarely happens because not many survivors have the skill to time it right and/or to be there at the right time. The improved survivor classes are a great addition and can be really funny with friends but you have this in the normal mode too - some perk combinations can do similar things. It is still sad that we cannot gain pips and not use BP Offerings. Speaking of BP, having +150% BP on the survivorside - or even 50% -, is a joke. In the normal mode you get so much more due to cakes and BPS and the normal extra BP Bonus. The Blood Rush Week feels so wasted during this time because in the normal 1v4 you will get so much more thanks to extra BP and BP offerings. So in terms of what you get as a survivor, it is very little. This is also the reason why no one wants to play survivor. So for the next time, it would be better to give the survivors something new that they don't have in the 1v4 and that they enjoy. You, the developers, should forget about adding new maps or killers for the next time but instead focus on adding new and funny stuff the survivors so their gameplay feels good and new and they want to play it.
Next, 1v4 is really miserable during 2v8 mode in so many different ways: First, it takes a long time to find a lobby (on average five or eight minutes) and then you will face survivors that send you to the most disgusting maps (Eyrie or Badham) with the most strongest stuff because they want an easy match and this is so boring and unfun. But when you, as the killer, uses a map offering or green hand, either they dc during the loadingscreen or they give up within the first three minutes. Then there are of cause these survivors that give up on hook or dc for other stupid reasons. On average, You play ten matches with a seven minutes qtime and only two of them feels funny, fair, and good to play while the others are miserable - just as a sidenote: I don't talk about winning or losing because I don't care about it, I mean the match itself. Similar issues for survivors; the killer sends you to a stupid strong map, one of your teammates send you to a stupid map (RPD), one of your teammate gives up on hook, or one of your teammates is doing nothing but totems or chests. Having these matches and 2v8 issues for two weeks feels really bad and makes no fun. And this is a 2v8 mode issue since Chaos Shuffle, anniversary, or lights out had none of these issues.
TL;TR
The new killer classes and the changed/buffed survivor classes are really good and provide new and funny gameplay. The Antislugging mechanic is a good addition to the gamemode while the new hook-gen-mechanic is a good idea but needs some big improvments. Killer qtime is still extremly long, there are no good reasons to play survivor in this game mode (extra BP is a joke, no pips), and 1v4 becomes nearly unplayable during this time (map offerings, dcs, give ups on hook ect.). It really surprises me that the already bad sound design can become even more worse in a single gamemode. Lastly, some killer basekit changes are good but Deathslinger needs more buffs the next time while Blight could get some slightly nerfs while Trapper still needs a hole rework (different story but I want to mention it). Overall, the 2v8 mode is still fun to play but considering the facts how awful 1v4 becomes and there is nothing new/something that encourages to play survivor, two weeks are way too long and extending it makes it even worse, even if it's only two days. You, the developers, should rather focusing on fixing the biggest issues that come with the gamemode instead of extending it for the next time with new killers or maps.
