The PTB - A Constantly Underutilized Missed Opportunity
The PTB is live for around two weeks when a new chapter needs testing. Why is it that we only get one iteration of the upcoming patch to test? I understand that this is a free way to make sure the game doesn't crash when pushed to live, but seriously. Balance is the same as, if not more important, than the game's ability to run: if the game isn't fun for both sides, why even play?
Why is it every time we get a new PTB, there is no visible active monitoring of the forums and game data followed by immediate responses from the team via update patches to the PTB? The changes that get pushed to live shouldn't come after 3 weeks of radio silence announced by a forum post that nobody can respond to. We should be getting 2 to 3 iterations minimum per major patch for the PTB to live up to its namesake. Excel spreadsheets marinating on, quite frankly, useless data for 3 weeks at a time shouldn't determine what needs to be changed; actual human feedback and a general sense of the topics in question should.
No one is going to test this second update to Shoulder the Burden, nor is anyone going to test the changes made to the Houndmaster. That patch is going to hit live, and the second it does, it becomes exponentially harder to push a balance update due to 3rd party vetting of each patch that gets pushed (thank you consoles!!!). With the PTB, the devs are not restrained by any of that. So why not utilize the PTB for its intended purpose? Weave attunement has been needing an update since July, and it's taken until the very end of November for them to address it. 5 and a half months. Case in point.
If the goal of the game is to strive to provide as close to a balanced experience as possible, a good first step would be to use the PTB for what it's designed for, instead of having your second iteration be the changes that get pushed to live.

I forgot to mention in my post but running a PTB when the 2v8 event is out, forcing people to choose between a limited time event and the upcoming patch probably affected the amount of data collected negatively since more players are interested in 2v8.
